Inter Milan will be gunning for a fourth-straight victory in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night (20:00, TNT Sports 5) when they welcome RB Leipzig to San Siro.

The Italian giants are fifth in the league table, while their visitors are 32nd, having yet to put a single point on the board in Europe so far. Read on for my Inter Milan vs RB Leipzig prediction, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.

Team News

Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is a doubt to feature after he was a late arrival back from international duty with Argentina, before being hit with a virus which saw him miss the 5-0 win over Verona in Serie A at the weekend.

Marcus Thuram looks set to keep his place in the team, but he might be without his usual partner for a second successive game. Mehdi Taremi, Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa will be itching to get the nod to start next to the Frenchman if so, with the latter scoring in a rare start against Verona.

Hakan Calhanoglu, who has scored two goals in Europe so far, is another concern for this one. The midfielder picked up a thigh injury with Turkey and he was also absent at the weekend. Kristjan Asllani will be primed to deputise if needed.

Defender Francesco Acerbi was forced off with a problem at the weekend and he too will need to be assessed ahead of Tuesday. Simone Inzaghi would likely select either Stefan de Vrij or Benjamin Pavard to join the back three if Acerbi is out, while Yann Sommer will keep his place between the sticks.

The Swiss shot-stopper has saved all 14 shots on target he has faced in the Champions League this season.

For Leipzig, duo Eljif Elmas and Yussuf Poulsen were both injured on international duty, and El Chadaille Bitshiabu recently suffered a setback in training. David Raum and Xavi Simons are also in the treatment room for the German outfit.

This means we should see Christoph Baumgartner support Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda in attack. Antonio Nusa is also set to feature, and he is in good form at the moment after netting a couple of goals for Norway while on international duty, before striking at the weekend against Hoffenheim.

Inter Milan to win to nil @ 13/8

Inter Milan are yet to concede a goal in the Champions League, and three of their four games have been wins. The other was a draw, which came at Manchester City at the beginning of their European campaign.

They are a strong defensive unit and San Siro is one of the toughest places to go in Europe when facing the Nerazzurri. Inter are brilliantly organised and I can see them having a routine evening against one of the worst-performing teams in the Champions League in Leipzig.

Their poor form in Europe looks to have hit them in the Bundesliga now too as they are winless in their last three, but fortunately they still sit third. They are proving to be easy to score against at the moment, and I think the Inter players will be rubbing their hands together to face their troubled back line.

Inter have plenty of attacking players who can have an impact in this match, notably Thuram, but even wing-back Denzel Dumfries is an attacking threat that the visitors will need to be wary of on Tuesday.

The hosts are in good form and their 5-0 win in the league last time out will only fire them up to extend their winning run in Europe. I have no concerns with their defence, even if Acerbi is unavailable, because of how well they have performed so far.

Leipzig have very little confidence heading into this, so I'm expecting this to show in their attackers' performances. I am expecting this to be a routine victory for Inter, so I am backing them to win to nil here.

Marcus Thuram anytime goalscorer @ 5/4

If Martinez misses out again, Thuram will be the main man for Inter on Tuesday, and he heads into this match full of confidence. The France international netted a brace against Verona at the weekend to take his goal tally in Serie A up to nine.

He has just the one goal in the Champions League so far, but with the way he's been performing this season, I think it's only a matter of time before his league form translates into Europe.

Thuram will be relishing to face a frail back line who are conceding goals at a worrying rate at the moment, and I think he will play a huge part in helping his side record another victory in this competition.
