Match Result (90 mins) - France

France have won eight of their last nine games, including their last four, the latest three of which were in the group stage.

Les Bleus overcame early Senegal resistance to beat the Lions of Teranga 3-1 before easing to wins over Iraq (3-0) and Norway (1-4), and their main man, Kylian Mbappe, was pivotal to all three victories, bagging a brace in each of his country's first two matches before registering a couple of assists in their third.

Sweden, meanwhile, began their World Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, thrashing Tunisia 5-1, but the scoreline was reversed when they played the Netherlands (1-5) before the Blagult played out a 1-1 draw with Japan.

Graham Potter's side have looked unconvincing and very much like a side that finished bottom of their qualifying group behind Switzerland, Kosovo and Slovenia, only making the play-offs thanks to topping their UEFA Nations League group in 2024.

Sweden have only won three of their last 13 games and have lost four of their last five meetings with France, including both this decade, a 1-0 Nations League defeat in Solna in September 2020 and a 4-2 loss in the reverse fixture in Paris two months later.

Didier Deschamps' charges should prove too much for Sweden in 90 minutes, so I'm backing France in the Match Result market.

Player 1+ Assists (Sub Switch) - Michael Olise (FRA)

France and Bayern Munich playmaker Michael Olise is yet to score in the World Cup, but only Brazil's Bruno Guimaraes (four), who played in the Selecao's round-of-32 tie with Japan on Monday, has registered more assists than him (three).

The 24-year-old set up Mbappe's opening goal against Senegal and repeated the favour against Iraq before creating France's third and final strike by Ousmane Dembele.

Olise recorded 27 assists for Bayern in 2025/26, including 19 in the Bundesliga and seven in the UEFA Champions League, earning his tag as the German giants' chief creator.

It looks like he has earned that reputation at international level, too, and with the likes of Mbappe and Dembele in red-hot form, it's hard to back against him assisting again on Tuesday.

Betfred's Sub Switch rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.

France vs Sweden Odds

Player 2+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Anthony Elanga (SWE)

Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres are the star names in this Sweden side, but after impressing against Tunisia, scoring once apiece, the striking duo have gone off the boil.

The man to score their only goal of the game against the Netherlands and Japan was Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga, who was only introduced in the 56th minute against the former and took fewer than three minutes to get on the scoresheet.

The 24-year-old earned a start against Japan and took his chance with both hands, scoring a vital equaliser from long range in the 62nd minute and forcing a save with his only other effort in the third minute of injury time.

Elanga is likely to play an important role again for Sweden on Tuesday, with his pace in behind vital as the Blagult look to counter-attack. He's recorded two shots in two of his last three appearances, despite a couple of those outings coming from the bench, and I fancy him to try his luck at least twice against Les Bleus.

Player 2+ Fouls Won - Gabriel Gudmundsson (SWE)

Only six players won more fouls in the Premier League last season than Leeds United defender Gabriel Gudmundsson (56), who averaged 1.8 won per game in the competition.

The 27-year-old averaged 1.4 fouls won per game in Sweden's qualifying campaign, too, despite a couple of his eight appearances coming from the bench, and in the group stage of this World Cup, he was upended seven times; three times by Tunisia, once by the Netherlands, and three times by Japan.
