Football Bet of the Day: Price Boost for Champions League final

It’s hard to ignore the biggest game in club football taking place on Saturday, as PSG face Arsenal in the Champions League final.

So what can we expect in Hungary for this Champions League final. Honestly, predicting a winner is too difficult to back with any conviction at this stage, so the Price Boost that I’m selecting doesn’t rely on either side to win. 

I can see PSG romping home to win their second consecutive title, but I can also see a scenario in which the newly-crowned Premier League champions take that momentum and win a famous double under Mikel Arteta. 

I do think we will get a superb contest at the Puskas Arena, and I’m expecting goals at both ends. If Arsenal score first expect them to sit in and try and defend their way to the title, but I just think PSG have too much quality not to find the net in this final. Let’s not forget they hammered five past Inter Milan in last year’s final and won the first leg of their semi-final 5-4 against Bayern Munich. 

If PSG score first, Arsenal will have to open up and go for it with nothing to lose. Arteta’s side are also threatening from set pieces, so I do think they will score at one point. Both teams to score in 90 minutes is the starting point for this Price Boost, while I also think both teams will have four or more corners.

Arsenal are the set-piece specialists, scoring 19 Premier League goals from corners, and so they will try to manufacture opportunities to put the ball into the box. They averaged 5.68 corners per 90 in the league, while PSG have earned at least four corners in their last eight games, registering 13 against Lyon and Brest and 12 against Lorient. 

Both teams should attack with a decent amount of quality, especially if there is an early goal which could open the final up. I think four corners each is a relatively low bar to set, as is two or more cards per side.

This is it for both of these teams. There are no more games to worry about suspensions and tactical fouls are going to be crucial, especially with five subs able to come off the bench. I’m expecting plenty of fouls and a few cards on either side.
