Football Bet of the Day: A flurry of goals expected on the South Coast

Football bet of the day

The sides on the two longest unbeaten runs meet in the Premier League on Tuesday as AFC Bournenmouth (16) host Manchester City (14) at the Vitality Stadium (19:30 BST, Sky Sports Main Event). The visitors are still looking to keep themselves in the title race but they face a tough task in Dorset given the Cherries' run of form.

I think this is set up to be a cracker on the South Coast and so I have picked out my Football Bet of the Day from this fixture. You can check out all the details below.

Football Bet of the Day - 19 May 2026

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Odds

Bournemouth are a 16/5 bet to make it five wins from six in the league.

Four of their previous five home outings in the top flight have been draws, with the stalemate here marketed at the same odds. It's 11/10 for Bournemouth or draw in the Double Chance market.

City are 7/10 to claim a fourth straight triumph over their hosts in all competitions.

While I was tempted with the Double Chance market in Bournemouth's favour, I thought I'd go with a safer selection. I like the attacking quality on offer on both sides, so I think goals will be the smart play here.

Pep Guardiola is set to name a strong side against Bournemouth and this is likely to feature former Cherry Antoine Semenyo, who scored a delightful flick to the score the winner in Saturday's FA Cup final.

Then when you add the free-scoring Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and the in-form Jeremy Doku - that's a lot of heat rocking up to the Vitality.

Football Bet of the Day Stats

  • 2 of Bournemouth's last 3 home games have gone Over 3.5 Goals
  • At least 4 goals have been scored in 11 of the 17 meetings in the Premier League
  • Man City have scored 3 goals in each of their past 3 outings in the top flight

Bournemouth have their own attacking stars to bring to the party, namely Eli Kroupi Jr., Rayan and Marcus Tavernier. Kroupi Jr's 12 league goals this term is the joint-most for a teenager in their debut Premier League campaign, alongside Robbie Keane (Coventry City 1999/00).

With all this talent that is going to be on display on Tuesday, I think Over 3.5 Goals is a very attractive bet that punters should consider. This has been a winning selection in two of Bournemouth's three most recent home games in the top flight, both of which ended 2-2 against Manchester United and Leeds United.

There have been at least four goals scored in one of Man City's previous three outings in the league but that was their latest away trip against Everton which finished 3-3. The sky blues have also scored three goals in as many league matches coming into this clash.

Interestingly, Over 3.5 Goals has struck in 11 of the previous 17 meetings in the Premier League, including the last two. City were 3-1 winners in November's reverse at the Etihad and I think more goals are going to be on the cards in this fixture.
