Football Bet of the Day: Everton to continue winning run at new home

Everton face Mansfield in the second round of the Carabao Cup at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in what is their second competitive match in their new home.

The Toffees won their first home fixture of the season when they saw off Brighton 2-0 in the Premier League at the weekend, marking their first victory of the campaign following a 1-0 away defeat to Leeds United.

They host in-form League 1 opponents on Wednesday night, who, after two successive defeats to open the campaign, have now won four on the bounce. The Stags have scored in every match of the season but have kept just two clean sheets from their six matches to date this term.

Everton are obviously strong favourites to progress from this tie and continue their winning start to life at their new stadium.

Both teams to score is priced at 5/4, while over 2.5 goals is 8/13, with unders at 5/4.

David Moyes will no doubt ring the changes and give some much-needed minutes to those who have not been able to make an impact in the league so far this campaign.

However, with Premier League quality players waiting in the wings and keen to prove a point to the boss, the Toffees should have too much on the night for their League 1 opponents.

Despite Everton as clear favourites to progress from this tie, backing Mansfield to get on the scoresheet appeals. The Stags started the season with two successive defeats but have bounced back to win four on the spin in all competitions, including an impressive 4-1 victory over Leyton Orient last time out.

Mansfield have scored in each of their six matches this season, netting 12 in total, and although an Everton win is expected on Wednesday night, the Stags are capable of getting on the scoresheet.

The visitors have continued their scoring form from last season into the new campaign, netting in 14 of their last 15 matches in all competitions.

However, a trip to Premier League opposition is clearly a tough test, and Everton started their home campaign off well with a 2-0 win on Sunday against Brighton.
