Our Football Bet of the Day for Friday 3rd November comes from the Championship, where we have a corker of a fixture, live on Sky Sports.

Leicester City host Leeds United, with kick-off at 20:00. Both recently relegated, this is a clash that could have a major impact on the title race and promotion places.

  • Leicester City vs Leeds United: Draw and Kelechi Iheanacho to score @ 7/1

Leicester City have enjoyed the best start in Championship history, winning 13 of their 14 matches so far. Enzo Maresca has hit the ground running and the Foxes look simply unstoppable at the top of the table. Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy are sharing minutes at the moment, but with the Englishman starting against QPR, we can expect Iheanacho to start this one.

With their goalscoring prowess, backing Iheanacho to score his seventh goal of the season seems like a good place to start, but I don’t believe Leicester will have things all their own way. They’ve relied on individual talent and sheer superiority to win games so far, and although they boast the strongest squad in the division, arguably the closest to them is Daniel Farke’s Leeds United.

The likes of Daniel James, Joel Piroe and Ethan Ampadu are elite players at this level and they will be able to go toe-to-toe with Leicester all over the pitch. This Friday night cracker, with Guy Fawkes night on the horizon, should produce fireworks and goals, at both ends. Leeds have the attacking quality to cause Leicester problems, and the most likely outcome from my point of view is a score draw.

Whether that is 1-1, 2-2 or even 3-3 isn’t really relevant to our selection here, as long as Iheanacho continues his excellent run of goalscoring form. Leeds have won four of their last five matches, with only a 1-0 loss to in-form Stoke blemishing their perfect run. They’ve certainly grown into the season under Championship expert Farke, and they will now have to hunt down the impressive top two of Leicester and Ipswich.

It’s what makes this game so important, while we must take into account the psychology of the fixture. Of course both teams would love to win, but you would also imagine that given the circumstances, both managers would shake hands on a point before a ball has been kicked. We may see that come into effect with around 20 minutes to play.

The 7/1 on offer for Iheanacho to score in a draw feels like the smart move here, given a draw and BTTS is just 10/3. With this selection, we are getting good value on one of the best strikers the Championship has ever seen to find the net, while Leeds can show they are automatic promotion contenders by picking up a point.
