International tournaments in Europe and South America may be drawing to a close this weekend, but both continents still have domestic leagues in their early infancy.

In my football accumulator tips for Saturday, July 13, I have selected three big hitters in Norway's Eliteserien, a third-division side in the Scottish League Cup, and the only Brazilian team with a perfect home record in Serie A, to draw up a 9.85/1 fivefold.

Football Accumulator Tips - Saturday, July 13

  • Esporte Clube Bahia to beat Cuiaba EC @ 4/7
  • Molde to beat Fredrikstad @ 21/20
  • Bodo/Glimt to beat Sandefjord Fotball @ 4/9
  • Brann to beat Haugesund @ 2/9
  • Dumbarton to beat East Kilbride @ 10/11

Esporte Clube Bahia to beat Cuiaba EC @ 4/7

After narrowly avoiding relegation to Serie B last season, finishing one point and one place above the drop zone, Bahia have enjoyed a terrific start to the Brazilian top-flight this term, collecting 27 points from their first 15 games to sit fifth at the time of writing.

Key to their points total has been their form, as they have won all seven league games at Arena Fonte Nova, scoring 13 times and conceding just three goals.

Only Cruzeiro, who have played one game fewer, can also lay claim to a perfect home record.

Cuiaba, meanwhile, are 16th after picking up just 14 points from their first 15 matches. More than half (eight) of that tally has come on their travels, but they've only won one of their last three away games and have drawn their last two.

Cuiaba were 3-0 victors at this ground last year but scored all three of their goals after the 20th-minute red card shown to since-departed Bahia defender Camilo Candido.

Should Bahia keep all 11 players on the pitch on Saturday (20:00), it's hard to back against them recording an eighth consecutive win in Salvador.

Molde to beat Fredrikstad @ 21/20

The first of three games from the Norwegian Eliteserien, third-place Molde travel to the Fredrikstad Stadion to face Fredrikstadon on Saturday (16:00) looking to keep ground on leaders Bodo/Glimt, who are six points ahead of them after 14 rounds of fixtures.

Molde are unbeaten in their last four games in the league, the most recent two of which they have won without conceding, and should be confident of triumphing this weekend against a team winless in their last four outings.

Fredrikstad are still fifth, just five points behind Molde having played a game fewer, but their early season form seems to have deserted them, and they look more like the newly-promoted side they actually are.

Molde have won their last three matches away from home and should have enough to get past their hosts on Saturday.

Bodo/Glimt to beat Sandefjord Fotball @ 4/9

Reigning champions Bodo/Glimt are also on their travels this weekend in a top-versus-bottom clash at Sandefjord on Saturday (16:00).

Bodo/Glimt recovered from a three-game winless run at the end of May to win both matches in June before opening this month up with a statement 5-1 victory over second-placed Brann, albeit their opponents were reduced to 10 men inside 10 minutes.

They couldn't handpick a better side to face on Saturday than Sandefjord, who already lag three points behind 15th-placed Sarpsborg having played an extra game.

Sandefjord have won just twice this term, back-to-back against Molde (3-1) and Sarpsborg (4-1) during the first half of May, and their current eight-game winless run includes five defeats, two of which have come at their home stadium, the Jotun Arena.

As the odds suggest, it's difficult to look past an away win here.

Brann to beat Haugesund @ 2/9

Sivert Heltne Nilsen's early dismissal at Bodo/Glimt on Sunday put Brann up against it away to the league leaders, whose man advantage was telling in a 5-1 thrashing over their title rivals.

Brann shouldn't be too perturbed by that humiliation, however, with a home game at the Brann Stadion against Eliteserien strugglers Haugesund next up on Saturday (18:00).

Haugesund are third-bottom having picked up just 13 points from their first 12 matches and have lost their last two contests, both of which took place at home.

They're also winless in their last three away from home, losing to Stromsgodset (2-0) and Molde (2-1), and were easily beaten 3-0 on their last visit to the Brann Stadion in April last year.

Brann have won more points at home (16) than any other side in the division and should add to that points total against their lowly visitors.

Dumbarton to beat East Kilbride @ 10/11

Lastly, I'm backing Dumbarton to open up their 2024/25 campaign with a League Cup victory over East Kilbride on Saturday (15:00).

Taking place at the Dumbarton Football Stadium, the match sees a Scottish League One side host a Lowland League outfit two divisions below them, so the odds of a Dumbarton victory look pretty generous.

Dumbarton and East Kilbride are in League Cup Group A alongside Queen of the South, Airdrieonians and Aberdeen, with the latter the obvious favourite to emerge as winners.

Three second-placed teams will advance to the next round, however, and if Dumbarton have any designs on it being them, they will probably need to win their home games, against East Kilbride and Airdrieonians.
