After two seasons of good profit, our 3-3-3 columnist Jamie Pacheco is back with a World Cup special edition of his 3-3-3 column, where he picks out a daily treble. His form has been heating up after a sluggish opening week, with three winners in recent days, boosting him into a healthy profit.

He has three selections for Wednesday's matches starting with Colombia getting the job done against DR Congo. Check out his other two selections and why below as he takes us through his World Cup Betting Tips with his Wednesday Football Treble...

For the past two years, I’ve been running the 3-3-3 column.

Here were the rules regarding how it worked.

3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.

3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And these were the column’s results over the past two years, so pretty impressive stuff.

  • 2025-26 season Current P and L: +16.5 pts
  • 2024-25 season’s P and L: + 16.9
  • World Cup P and L: +7.16

There will be a special edition of the 3-3-3 column during the Group Stages of the World Cup and possibly beyond. Of course, there won’t be matches picked from three different leagues this time round as they’re all from the same competition, but there will be picks from three different matches, and they’ll always come to at least 3/1 across the acca. So we’re keeping things as close as possible to the classic 3-3-3 format.

RECAP: Another winner, the third in four days and the fourth of the tournament to put us in good profit at +7.16 points. We already had Egypt to win overnight and followed that up with a goal from Messi (well, two actually, but we weren’t best pleased when he missed that early penalty) and rounded off with Kylian Mbappe getting exactly the three shots on target we needed from him, scoring two goals from them.

So back in a great position and as a bonus, we also have the first leg of our Tuesday effort in the bag thanks to BTTS in Norway v Senegal after it ended 3-2. So we may even win again, but let’s start looking forward to Wednesday.

  • Colombia v Congo
  • Wednesday, 24 June, 18.00
  • Back Colombia to win @ 8/15

DR Congo caused one of the upsets of the tournament in getting a 1-1 draw with Portugal, but that was as much Portugal’s fault as it was Congo’s achievement as they took their foot off the gas and left it too late to take risks.

It’s a mistake Colombia are unlikely to make. They were clinical in their 3-1 win over Uzbekistan and despite losing in back-to-back friendlies to two good European sides in Croatia and France in pre-tournament friendlies, they won four matches either side of those two defeats.

They’ve been one of the most consistent South American sides for the best part of 6-7 years now and have plenty of experience of this tournament.

I’m not expecting this to be easy because Congo are hard to beat, having held the likes of Senegal and Denmark to draws not so long ago, but there’s a bit of a gulf in class here, so let’s hope Colombia can make it count.

  • Switzerland v Canada
  • Wednesday, 24 June, 20.00
  • Over 4.5 Away (Canada) Corners @ 5/6

Canada has featured twice in winning columns already, and one of them was all about them getting corners. We needed a few, we got a lot, Canada ending with 19 when they beat Qatar 6-0.

Now, of course, we don’t expect a repeat of that; it’s pretty freakish for any team to get 19 corners, however easily they win a game.

But that high corner count was very much typical of this Canada side, which of course was why we had them for corners last time out.

They had nine before that against Bosnia and before that it was: 12, 7, 9, 8, and 12. You can see by the way they play they’re good candidates for corners and though Switzerland are the toughest team they’ll face in the group, Canada should still be able to clear the 4.5 mark.

  • Scotland v Brazil
  • Wednesday, 24 June, 23.00
  • Back Vinícius Jr to Score or Assist @ 7/10

This is the best that worked for us on Monday with Messi and Vinícius Jr. deserve our faith in it, too.

Scotland has put up a good fight up till now and are still in it, knowing a point here could well be enough to secure a place in the next round. Even if they lose this, they may get fortunate and still go through.

But a Brazil win in which Brazil score a couple of goals feels like par for the score and if that’s the case, it would be a bit of a surprise if Vinicius wasn’t part of at least one of them.

He’s scored two of Brazil’s four goals so far and assisted a further one against Haiti. With Neymar still on the sidelines, he's very much the main man and enjoying that status, which also means he’s likely to be on penalties, so let’s hope he can come up with something.

James’s Fun Fact

Scotland have never beaten Brazil, losing eight times and drawing two and tasting defeat in the last six.
