World cup betting tips - daily accumulator

After two seasons of good profit, our 3-3-3 columnist Jamie Pacheco is back with a World Cup special edition of his 3-3-3 column, where he picks out a daily treble. He had a winner on the opening three games but corners have been his Achilles Heel over the weekend.

He has three selections for the next slate of games starting with the 11PM kick-off tonight with Uruguay winning a low-scoring game. Check out his other two selections and why below as he takes us through his World Cup Betting Tips...

Monday World Cup Betting Tips

  • Saudi Arabia v Uruguay - Back Uruguay to win and Under 3.5 Goals @ Evens
  • France v Senegal- Back Over 1.5 France Goals @ 4/6
  • Iraq v Norway - Back Over 1.5 Goals @ 2/9
  • Treble Odds @ 3.07/1

For the past two years, I’ve been running the 3-3-3 column.

Here were the rules regarding how it worked.

3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.

3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And these were the column’s results over the past two years, so pretty impressive stuff.

2025-26 season Current P and L+16.5pts

2024-25 season’s P and L: +16.9pts

World Cup P and L: +0.7

There will be a special edition of the 3-3-3 column during the Group Stages of the World Cup and possibly beyond. Of course, there won’t be matches picked from three different leagues this time round as they’re all from the same competition, but there will be picks from three different matches, and they’ll always come to at least 3/1 across the acca. So we’re keeping things as close as possible to the classic 3-3-3 format.

RECAP: It’s proving difficult to replicate that first day success, but we came close yet again on Sunday. Germany gave us the four goals we needed with plenty to spare, and we got BTTS in Netherlands v Japan, but the damage had already been done with Scotland failing to win the corners battle earlier in the day.

And there were more corners woes in the early hours of today with the Ivory Coast getting three when we needed them to get four. So, sadly, today’s other two matches become redundant, and our profits drop to just 0.7pts. We’ll have to work hard to find another winner as soon as possible.

  • Saudi Arabia v Uruguay
  • Monday 15 June, 23.00
  • Back Uruguay to win and under 3.5 goals @ evens

Many will remember Saudi Arabia’s shock win against Argentina at the last World Cup, but when we say shock, we mean it, because though Saudi Arabia have booked their place in plenty of World Cups, they don’t often get much in terms of results from those appearances.

Uruguay on the other hand have good World Cup pedigree and as England found out in a recent friendly, are hard to beat, a last-gasp penalty earning them a deserved draw at Wembley a few weeks ago.

In truth, their form in friendlies other than that hasn’t been great, but they’re the sort of side that saves their best for when it really matters and should be too cute and too experienced for the Saudis here.

They’ve kept five clean sheets in their last eight and seven of those stayed under 3.5 goals, so if Uruguay do win as we expect them to, it shouldn’t be in a high-scoring affair. So a win with less than four goals in it looks the way to go.

  • France v Senegal
  • Tuesday 16 June, 20:00
  • Back Over 1.5 Home (France) Goals @ 4/6

France will want to start the tournament style, and though Senegal are a good, well-organised side who went through qualifying undefeated, they weren’t playing sides of this calibre.

As you’d expect from a side whose attack reads like a ‘who’s who’ of global superstars, France have been full of goals of late.

Ready for a remarkable stat? They’ve scored two or more goals in 12 of their last 13 matches, quite incredible when their list of opponents includes Spain, Germany, Brazil and Colombia. The outlier was a 2-1 defeat to the Ivory Coast a couple of weeks ago if you’re interested.

Senegal conceded three against the USA recently, but more importantly, this is one of those cases where we’re putting faith in France’s record rather than worrying too much about Senegal, so we’re confident they’ll get at least two France goals here.

  • Iraq v Norway
  • Tuesday June 16, 23.00
  • Back Over 1.5 Goals @ 2/9

As regular readers of the 3-3-3 column know, having two selections at relatively high prices gives us all the freedom to do pretty much what we want with the third selection. Not that this match is full of great opportunities.

Norway are much the stronger side here on paper and to some, could be the dark horses of the tournament. But Iraq are one of those determined and resilient sides who can make life hard for anyone. They recently held Spain to a 1-1 draw…in Spain!

My first instinct was to go for a Norway win with at least three goals in the game but that’s a bit riskier than it seems, or that it needs to be.

This game could well be 3-0 Norway but I also wouldn’t be too surprised if it ended in a frustrating (for Norway) 1-1 draw.

Eight of Iraq’s last 10 matches have had at least two goals in them and for Norway it’s 7/8 to have at least two, so we’ll go with that and keep plenty of options open regarding a possible scoreline.

James’s Fun Fact

Norway are the only national team to have faced Brazil multiple times and never lost to them. Their famous 2-1 victory at the 1998 World Cup in France came thanks to goals from Tore André Flo and Kjetil Rekdal, overturning an early goal from Bebeto.
