Senegal to win
Senegal troubled France and Norway, scoring three goals against two strong teams, but ultimately Pape Thiaw’s side have come away empty-handed. It means they have to beat Iraq to have any chance of qualifying, and given they currently have a -3 goal difference, they have to beat them well.Â
Iraq conceded four against Norway and three against France, and their defence looks as though it may struggle again. It’s a shame for them that they’ve been placed in the group of death, as at times they have been decent to watch.Â
However, Senegal have a strong attacking line up and should be able to get three points on the board, sending Iraq home with empty pockets.
Over 2.5 Senegal goals
As I’ve mentioned, Senegal need to win this game by a decent few goals to give themselves a shot at qualification. Three points is by no means enough to take you through, so goal difference is going to be a crucial factor, with Ismaila Sarr’s brace against Norway crucial in that regard.Â
A three-goal win will put Senegal on 0 goal difference, which might just be enough with their three points to take them through. Nicolas Jackson and Sadio Mane need to improve, but they should have their way against Iraq.Â
The game state should suit them, they know they need to chase as many goals as possible, so let’s back them to get at least three in Toronto.Â
Ismaila Sarr to score (Sub Switch)
Just looks so good doesn’t he? He is coming off the back of a superb season with Crystal Palace where he won the Conference League, and now he looks like the standout player of a big-name front three.Â
He was sensational against Norway as he attempted to drag his side back into the game with a brace, while he also had the most touches (10) in the opposition box and took the most shots (six). I think he is the best bet to find the net for Senegal.Â
Betfred's Sub Switch offer rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.
Sadio Mane 1+ assist (Sub Switch)
Mane is yet to produce a big moment at this tournament, but I think his quality will tell in this one. He is going to have plenty of freedom against this Iraq team, who should be under the cosh for the majority of the game so I’ll back him to get an assist to round off this Bet Builder.Â
