England may have flattered to deceive in their 1-0 friendly win against New Zealand, but there’s still plenty of hope around that this could be the year.

England get their tournament underway against Croatia, and this is a squad with plenty of quality. Below you can find the England World Cup Top Scorer Odds, as captain Harry Kane leads the market.

England World Cup Top Scorer Odds

  • Harry Kane @ 1/2
  • Bukayo Saka @ 8/1
  • Jude Bellingham @ 12/1
  • Morgan Rogers @ 12/1

Harry Kane @ 1/2

The obvious pick and the rightful favourite, even at this short price. Kane is England’s record goalscorer, with 79 goals in 113 appearances and has a World Cup Golden Boot to his name, having scored six in 2018.

His pedigree speaks for itself, but he did only score two goals at the last World Cup and wasn’t at his best at Euro 2024 either. His Bayern Munich season has been sensational, with 61 goals in 51 appearances, and he is one of the finest strikers in the world. If he leads England to World Cup success, the Ballon d’Or is surely his as well.

He’s going to start every game if fit, takes penalties, and this squad looks to be built to get the best out of him. I can’t see past him in truth, but let’s look for value in the form of the other contenders.

World Cup Odds

Harry Kane

Bukayo Saka @ 8/1

Bukayo Saka is guaranteed to start on England’s right wing, but he hasn’t been in flying form for Arsenal, registering seven goals and seven assists in the league as the Gunners won the Premier League.

Saka has scored two goals for Thomas Tuchel for England, and 14 in 48 international games in total. He’s going to be a key player for the Three Lions, but he isn’t a world-class goalscorer so I’d look elsewhere.

Jude Bellingham @ 12/1

England’s big man for the big occasion could make this tournament his own. But right now, he isn’t guaranteed to start, with him and Morgan Rogers battling it out for the number 10 role. It feels as though Bellingham will start by the time the crunch games come around, but can he outscore Kane, which is a big ask?

He should be given a free role in the number 10 position and should get into the box a lot, so potentially the Real Madrid man, who got six in 28 in La Liga, could produce. He had a moment of magic against Slovakia in the Euros, and scored 19 league goals in his first season at Real Madrid, so he has it in his locker.

Morgan Rogers @ 12/1

Feels like a big ask, but if does start, he certainly has the ability to contribute some big goals. 10 in 37 in the Premier League and a further three in Aston Villa’s Europa League success means he certainly deserves a place in the squad, but can he start ahead of Bellingham and outscore Kane? Unlikely.

Ollie Watkins @ 14/1

If you think Kane will get injured or suspended at some point, Watkins offers massive value. Let’s not forget he regularly came off the bench for the Bayern Munich striker at the last Euros, scoring that dramatic late winner in the semi-final against the Netherlands.

16 Premier League goals this season makes him the natural understudy to Kane, but minutes are going to be hard to come by unless the captain gets injured.

Marcus Rashford @ 16/1

Out of the ‘outsiders’ I think I fancy Rashford at a big price. I think he starts above Anthony Gordon, and he has an extremely high ceiling in terms of potential at this World Cup. Playing as the left winger, he is going to make plenty of runs in behind, with Kane dropping deep, and he is far more direct than Saka on the right.

Throw in the fact that he will probably take the free-kicks within shooting range, and you have a man who could bag a far few goals. He scored five in 11 in the Champions League for Barcelona, and a further eight in La Liga, so there’s decent form to build upon. If Tuchel gives him the nod, he could be amongst the goals.
