Tuesday 23rd June 2026, 9:00

My word there’s an awful lot of positivity around this England team now. The 4-2 win over Croatia, especially the fantastic second half, was the best we’ve seen of the Three Lions under Thomas Tuchel, and now they head to Boston to face Ghana on Tuesday (4pm local, 9pm BST, BBC One).

Below you can find my England vs Ghana Predictions as the boys target a spot in the last 32.

Team News

The England boss has a couple of decisions to make heading into this one, despite a good showing against Croatia. Marc Guehi is an option to come into the heart of defence after Ezri Konsa and John Stones conceded two goals. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford may get the nod over Anthony Gordon after scoring from the bench.

Carlos Quieroz will surely have to bring Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante into the starting XI after he created Ghana’s late winner vs Panama. Kamaldeen Sulemana is the likely name to drop out, while Abdul Fatawu could replace Ernest Nuamah. Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi was withdrawn at half-time with an injury so Benjamin Asare should start in his place.

England vs Ghana Predicted Lineups

  • England - Pickford; James, Konsa, Guehi, O'Reilly; Anderson, Rice; Madueke, Bellingham, Rashford; Kane
  • Ghana - Asare; Senaya, Adjetey, Opoku, Mensah; Yirenkyi, Owusu; Semenyo, Fatawu, Thomas-Asante; Ayew

England vs Ghana Odds

England are the big favourites to win this one, priced at 2/9 to take the win, with Ghana at 14/1 to land all three points. A draw is 5/1, over 2.5 goals is 8/13 and Kane is the favourite to score first at 11/5.

England vs Ghana Stats

  • England had 11 shots on target vs Croatia, with an xG of 3.20
  • Jude Bellingham had three shots in the opener, scoring once

England to win with -1 handicap @ 4/6

I was incredibly impressed with England in that Group L opener, and I think they will kick on and secure top spot. Croatia on paper is the most difficult game in this group, and Ghana did not impress in their 1-0 success over Panama.

They will be without their first-choice goalkeeper and Harry Kane was in fine form for the Three Lions. England were arguably the most entertaining team in the first round of fixtures, creating an xG of 3.20, having 22 shots, 11 on target.

If they keep up that level of performance against weaker opposition, they should win comfortably.

Jude Bellingham to score anytime @ 13/8 (Sub Switch)

Kane feels like the most likely England goalscorer (obviously) but his odds are far too short in terms of backing a goalscorer. Instead I turn my attention to England’s number 10, Jude Bellingham. He had three shots against Croatia, two on target, and scored one wonderful goal at the start of a sparkling second half.

Bellingham’s runs beyond Kane are going to be crucial for the Three Lions in North America, with the wingers also looking threatening in terms of stretching the play. I think Bellingham can star again for England and bag himself another goal - as I believe there’s a serious chance Tuchel’s men end up as the tournament’s highest scorers come the end of July.

England vs Ghana Score Prediction

  • England 3-0 Ghana

England are flying heading into this game, and are by far the superior outfit heading into this. Their attacking dominance was there for all to see as they scored four past Croatia, and I expect that domination to continue against weaker opposition.
