Ecuador
Ecuador have no fresh injury concerns to report following their stalemate with Curacao on matchday two. Boss Sebastian Beccacece is likely to make changes given his team are yet to find the net.
Kevin Rodriguez came on at half-time in that match, and so he may be promoted to the XI against Germany. Sunderland winger Nilson Angulo is another player who could be presented with a starting opportunity.
Alan Franco occupied the right centre-back role in the previous game, but he might be restored to his familiar midfield position on Thursday.
Germany
Germany can afford to rest their key players as they have already confirmed their spot in the round of 32. Their victory over Ivory Coast came at a cost, though, as defender Nico Schlotterbeck suffered an ankle injury that has ended his World Cup campaign.
Julian Nagelsmann replaced the Borussia Dortmund man with Antonio Rudiger, who appears to be the front-runner to start on Thursday. Malick Thiaw and Waldemar Anton will also tussle for the role next to Jonathan Tah.
Speaking about of his intentions for team selection against Ecuador, Nagelsmann said: "It'll probably be a mix." So it seems like some fringe players will be handed starts in New Jersey.
Deniz Undav scored a brace in the last game and the striker may be promoted to the line-up, potentially alongside Nick Woltemade. David Braum is an alternative to fellow left-back Nathaniel Brown.
Leon Goretzka and Angelo Stillar are options to make up Die Nationalelf's midfield.

Ecuador vs Germany Key Players:
Moises Caicedo (Ecuador)
Moises Caicedo is the star name in Ecuador's squad and La Tri will be looking to him for inspiration in this crunch clash. We all know the quality the Chelsea midfielder possesses in both winning the ball back and distributing it.
He needs to be at the top of his game against Germany if his side are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stage.
Deniz Undav (Germany)
I've been an advocate for Undav starting for Germany and Thursday could be the day I see my wish come true.
The VfB Stuttgart centre-forward has bagged three goals at the tournament so far, and while his team have nothing to worry about heading into the Ecuador clash, he'll be hoping to impress Nagelsmann further to boost his chances of starting in the round of 32.
