Group G begins in earnest on Monday as Belgium face Egypt in Seattle (12pm local, 8pm BST, BBC One).

Belgium now have Rudi Garcia at the helm and their golden generation is fading, but with the pressure off, they will hope to flourish in North America. Below you can find my Belgium vs Egypt Bet Builder Tips.

Belgium vs Egypt Odds

Belgium to win

I’m actually fairly positive about Belgium’s chances this summer, and unlike some of the other European nations, they don’t need to worry about extreme weather in rainy Seattle. Up in the north-west of the USA, although it is expected to be around 26C at kick-off.

Belgium still have Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku from their much-maligned golden generation, but this time they are supported by in-form players at their peak. Jeremy Doku and Leandro Trossard have enjoyed strong seasons, while Thibaut Courtois remains an experienced elite goalkeeper.

Egypt made it to the World Cup unbeaten having won eight and drawn two in qualifying, and they did lose the AFCON semi-final to Senegal 1-0, but they are going to pose a threat. All eyes will be on Mo Salah after his turbulent season, with the former Liverpool man hoping to make a big impression on the world stage.

Despite Egypt’s potential, I think Belgium will be too strong for them in this opener, so let’s begin our Bet Builder by backing them to win.

BTTS Yes

I think we will see goals at both ends in this one. Egypt scored 20 goals in their 10 World Cup qualifiers while Belgium looked susceptible at times, conceding seven in eight games. Against Wales, they had the most difficulty, winning their two games 4-2 and 4-3 thanks to late goals, and given Egypt are closer in terms of quality to Wales than any other team in Belgium’s qualification group, I think they can score at least one.

I’m hoping for an entertaining clash in Seattle.

Leandro Trossard to score

With Lukaku recovering from a nightmare season in terms of injuries and unlikely to start Belgium’s opener, Charles De Ketelaere should start as the number nine. He’s not one for goals usually, bagging just three this season for Atalanta, so I’m looking to the wide men to provide the goods.

It was a toss-up between Doku and Trossard for a goal, and I went for the Arsenal man. He scored the opening goal in the final friendly against Tunisia and scored six for the Premier League champions this term and I think he’s the man Belgium will rely on for goals.

Betfred's Sub Switch offer rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.
