Feyenoord vs bayern munich predictions betting tips uefa champions league wednesday january 22 2025

Just two points separate 12th-placed Bayern Munich and Feyenoord in 20th as the 36-team Uefa Champions League league phase enters its final two rounds of fixtures this month. Both clubs are still in contention to claim a top-eight spot and secure direct entry to the last 16 of the competition but Feyenoord especially are still in danger of missing out on the top 24 altogether and with that entry into the play-offs, so there's a lot at stake on Wednesday (20:00, TNT Sports 7) when the sides meet at De Kuip in Rotterdam.

Read on for my Feyenoord vs Bayern Munich prediction, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.

Feyenoord vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips

  • Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Bayern Munich & Yes @ 6/4
  • Anytime Goalscorer - Michael Olise (MUN) @ 9/5

Team News

Quilindschy Hartman (knee), Jordan Lotomba (broken leg) and Chris Nadje (unspecified) are out injured for Feyenoord in midweek, while Quinten Timber (knee) and Hwang In-beom (unspecified) are both doubts.

De Trots van Zuid head coach Brian Priske named a strong starting XI in Saturday's 1-1 Eredivisie draw at Willem II and so most, if not all, of the starters in Tilburg are expected to line up from the beginning on Wednesday.

If there are to be any alterations, Dutch midfielder Gjivai Zechiel and Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman - on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion - are likely to be at the front of the queue.

Football Odds

Bayern, meanwhile, are missing French right-back Sacha Boey (ankle) and Japanese central defender Hiroki Ito (foot). Joao Palhinha is back in partial training following a groin injury that has kept him sidelined since mid-November, but the Portuguese midfielder is unlikely to be thrust back into action so quickly.

Vincent Kompany's side beat Wolfsburg 3-2 in the Bundesliga on Saturday and like Feyenoord, Die Roten could stick to the same starting XI featuring the likes of Harry Kane and Michael Olise, although it would be a surprise if Jamal Musiala wasn't promoted from the bench.

Feyenoord vs Bayern Munich Odds

Feyenoord lost their first two home games of the league phase campaign but beat Sparta Prague 4-2 last time out at De Kuip and are 6/1, or a 14.3% chance, to make it back-to-back wins in the competition. Bayern, meanwhile, lost in their first two Champions League away trips this term and their 5-1 'away' thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk took place in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Still, the Bavarians are 2/5 (71.4%) to claim all three points in Rotterdam on Wednesday.

The draw is priced at 4/1, both teams to score at 4/7, and over 3.5 total goals at 1/1.

Unsurprisingly, Kane (7/10) is way out in front in the anytime goalscorer market, followed by teammates Musiala (6/4) and Leroy Sane (7/4), with Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez (21/10) first up for Feyenoord.

Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Bayern Munich & Yes @ 6/4

Both teams to score has landed in 83 per cent (five) of Feyenoord's six league phase matches with their 4-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on matchday one proving to be the outlier so far. Only AC Milan can match that record in the Champions League this season and 29 goals (14 scored, 15 conceded), averaging at 4.8 per game, is something only matched by Red Star Belgrade (10 scored, 19 conceded).

Furthermore, BTTS - Yes has been a winner nine times in the Dutch club's last 10 contests in all competitions.

Bayern, meanwhile, have seen 50 per cent (three) of their European games in 2024/25 finish with a goal on either side, although it's 66.7 per cent (two) when it comes to away days. Their first travel match in the league phase saw them fail to score in a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in England but that was followed by a 4-1 loss to Barcelona in Spain and a 5-1 battering of Shakhtar in Germany.

Kompany's side kept two clean sheets at the start of the calendar year, beating Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 and Hoffenheim 5-0, but they let in two goals on the weekend and have conceded in seven of their last nine games going back to late November.

Both teams will believe they have the firepower to get at the opposition's defence but, ultimately, it should be Bayern that comes out on top at De Kuip. The Bundesliga leaders are in fine form having won their last four matches, including all three in 2025, by an aggregate of 14-3, while Feyenoord are winless in their last three in the Eredivisie, drawing with Willem II after defeats either side of Christmas to PSV Eindhoven (3-0) and Utrecht (1-2).

Anytime Goalscorer - Michael Olise (MUN) @ 9/5

Olise didn't come on the cheap last summer but the former Crystal Palace star is already proving to be a bargain buy for Bayern, scoring 10 times and registering nine assists so far this season.

His latest effort, Bayern's second in Saturday's 3-2 win over Wolfsburg, was the Frenchman's third in his last five starts, the first two of which came in the club's last Champions League outing, a 5-1 annihilation of Shakhtar on December 10. Olise's brace at the Veltins Arena doubled his tally in the competition after opening his account with a couple of strikes against Dinamo Zagreb in Munich on September 17.

There will be a lot of focus on Kane and Musiala at De Kuip and that could actually prove beneficial for the 23-year-old as if the Englishman and German are tightly marked, that may open up space for Olise on the right-hand side, and he's shown that when he gets a sight of goal, he can be deadly.

Only eight players, including Kane (five), have scored more goals than Olise in the league phase, so I think 9/5 provides great value for him to net on Wednesday.
