Leeds United welcome Norwich City to Elland Road in the fifth round of the FA Cup (16:30, TNT Sports). The Whites are without a win in normal time since February 6, having gone to extra time to beat Birmingham City 4-2 in the fourth round.

The Canaries have won five of their last six outings in all competitions and come into this clash having improved immeasurably since Philippe Clement took over from Liam Manning in November. Read further for my Leeds vs Norwich predictions.

Team News

Leeds lost Noah Okafor to a hamstring issue against Birmingham in the previous round. Manager Daniel Farke told the press on Friday that the Switzerland international will not play as he is yet to take part in first team training.

Apart from Okafor, the Leeds boss expects to have a full squad to choose from.

Jovan Makama is sidelined following surgery on a broken foot and Harry Amass is out with a hamstring issue. The Manchester United loanee isn’t expected back until April.

Norwich to win @ 6/1

Everyone loves a cup-set don’t they? A Championship side beating a lower-half Premier League team is hardly seismic, but there is still a bit of magic behind such results.

Of course, ‘magic’ doesn’t work as justification, unless you’re Debbie McGee. But Norwich are a team playing with confidence under Clement, after enduring a rotten start to the season. The fact the East Anglia club are only 17th in the Championship despite winning seven of their last 10 matches tells you the grim situation the incoming boss inherited.

Norwich are unlikely to go down, but it’s impossible to go up after that horrible autumn under Manning. So why not have a real go in the cup?

Leeds on the other hand are just three points above the Premier League drop zone in 15th. Survival is paramount and the great Cup will sadly not be the priority it was back when Don Revie brought it to Elland Road in 1972.

An ambitious Championship side on a cracking five-from-six away run are the last thing Farke’s men will want to deal with.

Under 2.5 total goals @ 5/4

Six of Leeds’ last 10 games have included less than 2.5 goals in normal time, including their last four consecutive matches in all competitions.

Norwich’s games have a tendency to be a little more open, but their last two matches were 2-0 wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City. Against a stronger class of opponent, one who regularly stages low-scoring matches, I can’t see this devolving into a goal-fest.
