Team News
Emery will have to make do without Youri Tielemans, who is set to be out until at least next month with an ankle problem. Right back Matty Cash is sidelined, having missed the Brighton game through injury.
The Villans are also missing Boubacar Kamara (knee), John McGinn (knee) and Andres Garcia (hamstring).
Magpies boss Eddie Howe loses Joelinton for the sixth game on the spin due to the Brazilian’s groin injury. Absentees Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth leave Newcastle’s defence looking threadbare.
In midfield, Lewis Miley and Bruno Guimaraes both face a race to be fit for the cup tie.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle Predicted Lineups

Villa are priced at 6/5 to score the victory. The Magpies are on the market at 21/10 for the win while you can find the draw at 5/2.
Both teams to score is 8/15 while Villa are 3/1 to win with a -1 handicap.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle Stats
- Villa and Newcastle’s most productive players both have 13 goal involvements each in the Premier League. Morgan Rogers has eight goals and five assists while Bruno Guimaraes has nine goals and four assists

Aston Villa to win and under 3.5 goals @ 11/5
The heat has got to Villa in the league, with their audacious title challenge falling away in recent weeks. But Emery’s men look well-equipped to get a restorative victory here.
Part of that is down to Newcastle’s erratic form. Villa themselves kicked off a three-game losing streak for the Toon Army. A win over Tottenham Hotspur was a welcome boost, but the fact losing to the beleaguered black-and-whites cost Thomas Frank his job says a lot about their standing.
However, I do not see Villa emulating the likes of Liverpool, who walloped Howe’s boys 4-1 last month. Villa haven’t scored more than two goals in a league match for six games. They have only scored more than three twice this term.
Emery’s team is decent defensively and sharp enough to get the job done, but it won’t be a rout.

Morgan Rogers to score anytime @ 13/8
The England star is capable of everything from the spectacular to the last-ditch. As complete a footballer as Villa have had to call upon since Jack Grealish took his headband to Manchester City.
Eight league goals matches Rogers’ best-ever tally. But the last time he hit this number, it took him 37 games to do it. This term, the 23-year-old has hit that marker after 26 matches. Rogers is off the mark in this competition already too, scoring the difference-maker in the 2-1 third round win over Tottenham. Look for Rogers to add to his tally here.
