Everton vs ipswich

Everton welcome Ipswich Town to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00), with very little riding on the outcome.

The Tractor Boys' fate was sealed last weekend as a 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United confirmed that they would be sent back down to the Championship, while the Toffees are hoping to bounce back from two consecutive defeats. Read on for my Everton vs Ipswich predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Everton will welcome back Armando Broja after he was ineligible to feature against parent club Chelsea last weekend, while fellow striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also returned to full training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

James Tarkowski's campaign has ended prematurely due to the hamstring injury he sustained in the defeat to Manchester City last month, although there could be a place on the Toffees bench for Dwight McNeil, who has recently returned to training after knee surgery earlier in the year.

Everton vs Ipswich Stats

  • Everton have suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since David Moyes' return to the club
  • Ipswich were officially relegated following last week's 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United

As for the visitors, they could be without as many as 11 players for the trip to Goodison Park.

Ben Johnson joins Leif Davis in being suspended after the former was sent off against Newcastle, while Nathan Broadhead, Axel Tuanzebe and Conor Townsend are all sidelined with hamstring injuries.

Sammie Szmodics, Wes Burns and Jaden Philogene are also doubts alongside Kalvin Phillips.

Everton vs Ipswich Odds

The hosts are 1/2, giving them an implied win probability of 66.7%, the draw can be backed at 100/30 and an Ipswich win is available 6/1.

Beto leads the anytime goalscorer market at 6/5, while Liam Delap is shortest-priced for the visitors at 5/2.

Everton to win and both teams to score @ 12/5

As mentioned in the introduction, this game has very little riding on it as Everton are safe from relegation and it's already been confirmed that Ipswich will be playing Championship football next year.

This is the Toffees' penultimate game at Goodison Park, and they'll want to send their ground off with a pair of victories - firstly over the Tractor Boys on Saturday and then against Southampton later this month.

Only Leicester and Southampton have scored fewer goals in the Premier League than these two this term but the pair are fancied to get on the scoresheet in this clash.

Both teams have scored in seven of Everton’s last 11 games, while the visitors netted seven in their last four games before suffering back-to-back defeats without scoring against Arsenal and Newcastle.

I'm backing both teams to score here, as well as a home win.

Liam Delap to score anytime @ 5/2

The former Manchester City man looks a decent price to strike anytime at 5/2.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer move to Manchester United following Ipswich's relegation, but he'll want to finish the campaign on a high before thinking of pastures new.

Delap has scored 12 goals this season, including two in his last three starts, and is also the designated penalty taker for Kieran McKenna's side, increasing his chances of getting on the scoresheet.
