Everton vs Sheff Utd

Two sides with little left to play for go face to face at Goodison Park on Saturday (15:00) as Everton, who are already assured of Premier League safety, host a Sheffield United side resigned to playing Championship football next season. Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in four top-flight matches but their winning streak ended last time out in a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Luton.

The Blades, meanwhile, will finish bottom of the table no matter what after accruing just 16 points from 36 games this campaign. Last weekend’s 3-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest also saw Chris Wilder’s side concede their 100th league goal this season. That’s the worst record of any side in top-flight history in a 38-game season.

Everton vs Sheff Utd Odds

The Toffees are favourites at 2/5 to claim the spoils in this bottom-half-of-the-table encounter, while the Blades are 13/2 to register only their fourth league victory of the season.

The draw is a 4/1 shot, while Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the favourite to open the scoring on Saturday at 7/2.

Team News

Everton manager Dyche will be without a trio of first-team players, as Dele Alli (groin), Vitaliy Mykolenko (ankle) and Nathan Patterson (hamstring) are all out injured.

Amadou Onana, Seamus Coleman and Beto will all be pushing for a return to the starting eleven after making cameo appearances from the substitutes’ bench in recent weeks.

Blades boss Wilder has a longer absentee list to contend with, as no less than 10 first-team squad members are expected to miss the trip to Goodison Park.

Daniel Jebbison, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Max Lowe, Oli McBurnie, Chris Basham, Tom Davies, George Baldock and John Egan will sit on the sidelines with injuries, while Mason Holgate will not feature due to being on loan at the club from Everton.

Anel Ahmedhodzic is also absent after receiving his marching orders late on in last weekend’s defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Everton to win to nil @ 7/5

The Toffees have lost just one of their last seven home matches and that impressive form should put them in good stead to take all three points against a side who have taken just six points on the road.

Everton have won their last four games at Goodison Park and each of those victories were to nil, so another shutout could be on the cards.

Everton to win to nil @ 7/5 Under 2.5 goals @ 11/8

These sides possess the worst attacks in the division (38 and 35 goals scored respectively) and so a low-scoring encounter is likely on Saturday.

The last four matches at Goodison Park have each yielded under 2.5 goals and that low-scoring streak could well be extended.

Under 2.5 goals at 11/8 Sheffield United more bookings points @ 8/11

The Blades have been no strangers to the wrath of referees this season, picking up at least one yellow card in all but one of their 39 matches in all competitions.

Twenty-six of those games have seen United receive multiple bookings and their tendency towards ill-discipline could see them in the official’s notebook on a number of occasions.
