After a dramatic set of play-offs on Tuesday night, we now know the 24 nations that will be competing at Euro 2024 this summer. Wales will not be there, after their agonising defeat on penalties to Poland, so Scotland and England will fly the flag for the home nations in Germany.

Ukraine and Georgia also secured their places at this summer’s tournament via the play-offs, while the host nation qualified automatically and had a cracking international break with wins over France and the Netherlands.

Which teams have qualified for Euro 2024?

In alphabetical order:

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine.

What are the groups for Euro 2024?

The draw may have been conducted in December in Hamburg, but the final places in each group were only confirmed this week with the conclusion of the play-offs. There will be six groups of four which are the following:

Group A - Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B - Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C - Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D - Netherlands, Austria, France, Poland
Group E - Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine
Group F - Turkey, Portugal, Czechia, Georgia

The top two in each group will qualify for the last 16, and they will be joined by the four best third-place finishers. At Euro 2016, Portugal failed to win a single group game, yet still went on to win the tournament.

England’s group-stage fixtures

England vs Serbia - Sunday, June 16, 20:00
England vs Denmark - Thursday, June 20, 17:00
England vs Slovenia - Tuesday, June 25, 20:00

England simply have to top the group if they want to have a realistic chance of making it all the way to the final. The odds suggest they will face a third-placed team, which could be the likes of Austria, Czechia or Ukraine. Then a quarter-final against Switzerland or Italy awaits, before France or Belgium in the last four.

The final would then be against one of the big boys, likely to be Germany, Spain or Portugal. It’s possible, but if England don’t win the group, it becomes much harder. They could face Germany in the last 16 if they finish second, or Portugal if they finish third. Ouch.

Scotland’s group-stage fixtures

Scotland vs Germany - Friday, June 14, 20:00
Scotland vs Switzerland - Wednesday, June 19, 20:00
Scotland vs Hungary - Sunday, June 23, 20:00

Scotland have the privilege of kicking off the tournament against the hosts Germany in what is likely to be the best curtain-raiser we have seen for many a year. Steve Clarke’s men will be underdogs of course, but they have a real chance of qualification with this new format if they can get something against Switzerland and many people’s dark horses, Hungary.

What are the kick-off times for Euro 2024?

Group matches will kick-off at 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00, which should make for excellent viewing for UK fans. The first two rounds of group games will feature three games per day, while the final group games will all kick-off at the same time.

The 14:00 kick-off will be lost as we move into the knockout stages, while both semi-finals and the final are scheduled to begin at 20:00 BST.

When is the Euro 2024 final?

The Euro 2024 final will be held on Sunday, July 14 and will kick-off at 20:00 BST in Berlin's Olympiastadion.
