QPR vs Leeds

Queens Park Rangers host Leeds United at Loftus Road in the Championship on Friday night (Sky Sports, 20:00), with the visitors looking to take a giant step closer to automatic promotion, and given Ipswich Town have a game in hand over them, they cannot afford to drop any points from their final two fixtures.

The hosts clinched a huge three points at home to Preston North End last weekend, which has given them a four-point cushion from the relegation zone, but the job isn't done just yet. We should be in for a cracking match in west London and below I have laid out my QPR vs Leeds predictions, accompanied by team news and match odds.

QPR vs Leeds Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 Leeds goals @ 9/4
  • Crysencio Summerville to score anytime @ 15/8

Match Odds

QPR are 9/2, or an 18.2% chance of claiming the three points here. Leeds are priced at 4/7, with an implied probability of 63.6%. The draw can be backed at 16/5 (23.8%).

Both teams to score is on offer at 5/6, with it landing in 45% (20/44) of both QPR and Leeds' games this season. Over 2.5 goals is 4/5.

Leeds' Crysencio Summerville has scored 19 goals in the Championship this season and he is marketed at 11/2 to open the scoring at Loftus Road.

Team News

Taylor Richards, Michael Frey and Rayan Kolli have all missed the last two matches due to injury for QPR, and they are expected to miss out again on Friday night.

Lyndon Dykes will have gained some much-needed confidence after ending a three-month goal drought with his winner against Preston last time out, so he is expected to lead the line once again for Marti Cifuentes' side.

Leeds defender Pascal Struijk is the only absentee for Daniel Farke's team, and he will not feature in the final weeks of the campaign. Jamie Shackleton returned to the bench in the win over Middlesbrough on Monday night, overcoming his own recent physical issue.

Over 2.5 Leeds goals @ 9/4

In 15 of their 44 matches (34%) in the Championship this term, Leeds have scored a minimum of three goals, which is a testament to the attacking players they have at their disposal. Alongside Summerville, they have Wilfried Gnonto, Georginio Rutter, Dan James, Joel Piroe and Patrick Bamford, who have all been a regular source of goals throughout the campaign.

After a four-goal showing against Boro last time out, I'm fancying the Whites to deliver another proficient display in front of goal against QPR. Their destiny isn't completely in their own hands due to Ipswich's game in hand, but they can make sure they play their part in winning their final two league clashes to give them the best chance of securing automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

Over 2.5 Leeds goals at 9/4 Crysencio Summerville to score anytime @ 15/8

The Championship Player of the Season has been a joy to watch this season with 20 goals and 10 assists to his name. Although it doesn't quite add up that he can win the player of the season award for the league but not his own club, with Ethan Ampadu claiming Leeds' individual honour.

Regardless, Summerville's development has reached new levels this term and his qualities as a winger have improved greatly. He looks ready to return to the big time, and even if Leeds do earn promotion, they will be bracing themselves for a lot of enquiries for their talisman.

After netting a brace in the seven-goal thriller with Boro earlier in the week, Summerville will be relishing the final couple of matches as he aims to help get the Whites back to the promised land, while hoping that their rivals falter at the same time.

For now, they can only focus on themselves and that is what Summerville has been doing all year as he's posted incredible numbers. I'm expecting him to add to his goal tally this weekend against a QPR side that have conceded in 32 (72.7%) of their 44 matches this campaign.

Crysencio Summerville to score anytime at 15/8 Betfred are running their famed Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven offer on this match, meaning that if a player scores first and then nets again, you will be paid at double the odds. If he grabs a hat-trick, you will be paid at treble the odds!
