Albania are among the lowest-ranked nations at Euro 2024, but under the tutelage of ex-Arsenal and Barcelona defender Sylvinho, the Red and Blacks have a manager steeped in silverware.

Albania topped a qualifying group containing the likes of the Czech Republic and Poland to qualify for their second-ever European Championship this summer, but their reward was to be included in the dreaded 'Group of Death' alongside Spain, Italy and Croatia, with most observers expecting a three-way battle for qualification.

Confidence in the Red and Blacks wasn't bolstered by November stalemates with Moldova (1-1) and the Faroe Islands (0-0) nor friendly defeats to Chile (0-3) and Sweden (0-1) in March, though Sylvinho's side did beat both Liechtenstein (3-0) and Azerbaijan (3-1) earlier this month to gather some momentum heading into Germany, albeit against two low-ranked nations.

One of the most high-profile members of the Albania squad, meanwhile - Chelsea striker Armando Broja - scored just once in the 2023/24 campaign as he struggled to break into the Blues first-team or to displace Rodrigo Muniz during a loan spell at Premier League rivals Fulham.

That will be of concern to Sylvinho, but the Albania boss can call on some dependable figures at the back in the form of Berat Djimsiti and Elseid Hysaj.

Only Slovakia (400/1) and Georgia (500/1) are a higher price to win Euro 2024, which tells you everything you need to know. Forget Greece 2004 - Albania winning the Euros would be the biggest shock in the history of the tournament.

To Qualify From Group B @ 11/4

Just qualifying from the group would be a huge feat for Albania, who face two of the three previous winners - Italy (2020) and Spain (2008 and 2012) - and 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia.

Albania lost to both Spain (1-2) and Italy (1-3) in 2022, but it's against the latter whom they might experience most joy, while Croatia will be another tough team to tackle.

If Albania win Group B, something surely has to have gone seriously wrong with Spain, Croatia and Italy. Or maybe the four teams just share the points around.

Top Team Goalscorer - Armando Broja @ 4/1

Despite a pretty disastrous season, on the back of an injury-hit one in 2022/23, Broja is regarded as his nation's best goalscoring hope.

The 22-year-old has five goals in 22 caps for Albania and is still regarded as a major talent, but perhaps the value in this market lies with Jasir Asani (5/1), who was joint-top scorer in qualifying for the Red and Blacks with three goals alongside Nedim Bajrami (8/1).

For the same price as Asani, though, you can back there to be no Albania goalscorer, a damning indictment of their chances this summer.
