Ecuador and Jamaica both lost their opening games of the 2024 Copa America and will be hoping for better when they meet in Las Vegas.

With Mexico still to play in their final Group B game, the pressure is on Ecuador to get points on the board against the Reggae Boyz, who are the lowest-ranked team in the group. Read on for my Ecuador vs Jamaica prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds, which kicks off at 23:00.

Team news

Ecuador captain Enner Valencia is suspended after being sent off in the first half of his team's defeat to Venezuela. Kevin Rodriguez could get the start in his place in attack after coming off the bench in that match.

Jahmali Waite is likely to start in goal again for Jamaica as captain Andre Blake continues to work back to full fitness after knee surgery. Damion Lowe made a substitute appearance against Mexico after injury but is likely to be on the bench again.

Ecuador vs Jamaica Odds

Ecuador are solid favourites and priced at 1/2 to win the game, with Jamaica available at 11/2 and the draw on offer at 13/5.

Over 2.5 goals in the match is priced at 11/10 with under 2.5 at 4/6 and it's 6/5 that both teams score in the game with 8/13 on offer for at least one side to fail to find the net.

Ecuador's Jordy Caicedo and Kevin Rodriguez are the 4/1 joint-favourites to score the first goal of the match

Ecuador to win to nil @ 6/5

Ecuador made a hash of their opening appearance of the tournament, losing captain and star forward Enner Valencia to a red card for a wild challenge after just 22 minutes.

They still managed to take the lead against Venezuela with a first-half goal from Ipswich's Jeremy Sarmiento but their numerical deficit took its toll after the break and the underdogs scored through two of their substitutes to win 2-1.

Ecuador won't be able to call on Valencia in this match either as he is suspended, but if they can keep a full team on the pitch they should have the quality to overcome Jamaica.

The Reggae Boyz posted a respectable result in their first match against Mexico, losing only 1-0, but they have largely struggled over the last couple of seasons and could be up against it facing a fired-up Ecuador team.

Ecuador have a couple of lively attackers in Sarmiento and teenager Kendry Paez, who is set to join Chelsea in the Premier League for the 2025-26 season, and they could have some success against a Jamaica defence that is currently missing first-choice goalkeeper Andre Blake.

Jamaica have a poor record in this tournament and taking Ecuador to win without conceding appeals. Correct-score bettors could consider a 2-0 win for the South America side at 5/1.

Ecuador to win to nil at 6-5

Kendry Paez anytime goalscorer @ 5/2

Kendry Paez got his first taste of major tournament action at the age of just 17 against Venezuela and went close to marking it with a goal. The left-sided attacker had a shot saved in the 21st minute and also played a role in his team's goal.

It was an eye-catching start for the Premier League-bound wonderkid and he could give Chelsea fans another glimpse of what they have to look forward to with a goal against Jamaica.

Paez scored his first international goal against Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier at the age of just 16 and has also been a regular scorer for his club team, Independiente Del Valle.

With his dribbling skill compared to a young Lionel Messi, he could have too much trickery for the Jamaica defence.

Kendry Paez to score anytime at 5-2
