Following matchday one, England find themselves top of Group C with maximum points, after Jude Bellingham’s goal was enough to beat Serbia in Gelsenkirchen. The Three Lions were put under pressure in the second half, but held firm with Marc Guehi in particular impressing on his major tournament debut.

Next up, Gareth Southgate’s men face Denmark in Frankfurt (17:00, BBC One), after Kasper Hjulmand’s outfit dropped points in their opener against Slovenia. Below you can find my Denmark vs England Bet Builder Tips.

England to win

Although England struggled in the second half against Serbia, ultimately they got the job done and secured a vital three points in Group C. The first 25 minutes were sensational, with Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden given licence to roam, but the Three Lions lost their way slightly, and went more direct in the second half which played into Serbia’s hands.

However, I think this squad will grow into the tournament, and their understanding will continue to improve. These players haven’t actually played together that much, especially in this system containing Trent Alexander-Arnold and Declan Rice in midfield.

Denmark were hit and miss in their first game, but failed to hold on to a lead against Slovenia. They also play a back three just like Serbia did, so I expect Bukayo Saka to play a key role in England’s success once more. The Three Lions can get another three points.

Harry Kane and Phil Foden to score

I’m backing two players who were criticised for their individual performances against Serbia to bounce back with goals against Denmark. Now Harry Kane was limited to just two touches in the first half, but he did almost score with a crashing header in the second period. He will want to be a bigger goal threat against Denmark and against a less physical back three should have more success.

Meanwhile, Foden wasn’t at his best, but again I feel he can grow into this tournament. In fact, a lot of the time he made clever moves but just wasn’t found by the likes of Rice and Bellingham, while he did break into the box on a number of occasions but just couldn’t find that final touch. I think he can put things right against Denmark, and silence his critics with a goal.

Denmark vs England Odds

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Jannick Vestegaard to be booked

Denmark are likely to concede the majority of possession to England, and I think they will pick up a few bookings. We know how combative Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is, and in a deeper role, he is going to have to try and stop the likes of Bellingham and Foden. That’s a tough ask, especially if his teammates are caught too far forward, and I believe that he will pick up a yellow at some point.

The other name I have picked out is Leicester City’s Jannick Vestergaard. He is likely going to start as the left centre-back and up against Kane and more importantly, Saka. I can see him getting caught out at some point up against the Arsenal man, who was sensational in that first half in Gelsenkirchen. He is going to have to make a foul at some point to stop one of these runners, and he’s a big price to pick up a booking in my eyes.
