Group E of the 2024 European Championship qualifiers is set for a thrilling conclusion with an all or nothing showdown between the Czech Republic and Moldova in Olomouc on Monday evening.

Moldova had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Albania on Friday, but the Czech Republic also could only take a point from a 1-1 stalemate with Poland.

It’s been an extremely tight qualification section and only two points separate the second and fourth-placed nations in Group E.

The Czechs only need a point to secure their place in Germany, but Moldova must beat Jaroslav Silhavy to be sure of a spot in next summer’s tournament.

Czech Republic vs Moldova Betting Tips

  • Both teams to score @ 6/4
  • Over 2.5 goals & Moldova/draw double chance @ 14/1

Match Odds

The Czech Republic are the red-hot 2/9 favourites. Moldova are 14/1 to win on their travels and the draw, which would be no use to the visitors, is a 9/2 shot.

Team news

Vladimir Coufal, Jakub Brabec and Jan Kuchta were sent home by Czech gaffer Silhavy after allegedly going out to party in the build-up to the crucial Moldova clash.

Ioan-Calin Revenco was substituted at half-time against Albania and Maxim Cojocaru is set to fill the gap at right wing-back for Moldova.

Both teams to score @ 6/4

The Czech Republic are 2/9 to take three points and seal the deal in style when Moldova come to Olomouc on Monday night, but that looks an incredibly short price.

Silhavy’s men have won only one of their last five matches and the sole victory was a narrow 1-0 win over lowly Faroe Islands.

That certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in a 2/9 shot and there are major problems in the Czech camp.

First-choice defenders Coufal and Brabec and forward Jan Kuchta have all been sent home from international duty after allegedly electing to go partying in the build up to Monday night’s crucial qualifier.

That isn’t going to help the Czech Republic’s prospects, and with Coufal and Brabec missing from the backline, Moldova have a huge opportunity to find the net.

The Tricolours have scored in all of their last six matches and backing both teams to score looks the play on Monday evening.

Over 2.5 goals & Moldova/draw double chance PickYourPunt @ 10/1

Moldova have only lost two of their last nine matches, one of those was a friendly contest against Sweden and the other a Euro 2024 qualifier against table-topping Albania.

The Tricolours are a decent side, and while it’s a slight concern that they are likely to have to chase this game given the section standings, they are strong enough to avoid defeat.

If Serghei Clescenco’s does choose to open up in search of the three points that would earn Moldova a place in Germany, the goals could flow.

The Czech Republic have been a solid outfit, but they are without first-choice defenders Coufal and Brabec and that could leave the door open.
