West Brom vs Sheffield United Prediction: Blades good value for the victory

West Bromwich Albion were the latest side to fall to a defeat against Southampton in the Championship on Tuesday. The Baggies will hope for more home joy when they take on Sheffield United at The Hawthorns on Friday (20:00 GMT, Sky Sports Main Event).
The Blades have won four of their last five outings in the league and should be fancying their chances in the West Midlands. My West Brom vs Sheffield United predictions can be found below, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Toby Collyer (muscle), Jed Wallace (calf) and Alex Williams (ankle) remain sidelined through injury for West Brom. Alex Mowatt will need to be assessed after he was forced off with a knock in Tuesday's defeat at Southampton.
Should he miss out on Friday, Jayson Molumby, who replaced him at St. Mary's, is expected to start in midfield.
After starting on the bench in midweek, Mikey Johnston will be hoping for a recall in attack. Daryl Dike and Josh Maja won't be happy at their lack of starts at the moment but Aune Heggebo has made the centre-forward role his own with six goals in as many league games.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said "it doesn't look good" when referring to Sydie Peck's calf injury. The midfielder missed the draw with Norwich City in midweek and now faces a spell on the sidelines.
As a result, El Hadji Djibril Soumare and Ollie Arblaster are set to continue in the engine room on Friday, but Wilder may also consider handing a start to influential figure Gustavo Hamer, who has had his own injury troubles.
Tom Davies (calf), Ben Godfrey (knee), Ben Mee (hand), Mark McGuinness (ankle) and Chiedozie Ogbene (hamstring) are all the other injury concerns for the Blades. Jairo Riedewald will need to be assessed following illness.

West Brom vs Sheffield United Odds
West Brom are 7/5 to win this clash but they have just one win in their last five Championship outings.
The Baggies recently drew at home with Birmingham City and Sheffield United were held to a draw last time out against Norwich. The stalemate is priced at 11/5.
With four wins from five, the Blades are 15/8 (implied probability of 34.8%) to collect the three points on Friday.
There have been goals at both ends in each of Albion's past six league games and BTTS - Yes is marketed at 8/11.
West Brom vs Sheffield United Stats
- Sheffield United have won four of their last five league games
- BTTS - Yes has struck in each of WBA's previous six league outings
Match Result - Sheffield United @ 15/8
Back-to-back defeats are leaving West Brom in a vulnerable position ahead of their clash with Sheffield United. Their away record is not great. They have picked up more points (16) at home but often they have been slow starters.
They cannot afford this against the Blades, who have won four of their last five fixtures in the second tier, scoring 14 goals in the process. It's taken longer than expected, but it does look like Wilder is working his magic with the Blades once more.
They, like Southampton, are building a lot of momentum right now and there is no better time to do it than during the hectic festive period. West Brom will try and take positives from their second-half display against Southampton, scoring twice but they have conceded three goals in four of their last five Championship appearances.
Sheffield United are a team who look like they are continually improving, despite dropping points against Norwich. I fancy them to make up for it here in front of the Sky cameras.

Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 8/11
You have to go back to November 1 for West Brom's last clean sheet, which came in a goalless stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday. In the seven matches played since, BTTS - Yes has been a winning selection in six of them - which have all come consecutively heading into this contest.
For Sheffield United, there have been goals at both ends in two of their past three outings in the second tier, while BTTS - Yes has landed in four of their last five away trips in the league.
