Watford vs Preston Prediction: Can Hornets find another win?

Watford staged a remarkable comeback to beat Derby County 3-2 having been 2-0 down at Pride Park on Saturday, and Javi Gracia will hope to take that momentum into their home clash with Preston North End on Tuesday night (19:45, Sky Sports+).

Team News
Watford will start Edo Kayembe in midfield after his brace against Derby, and he is set to play alongside Imran Louza and Hector Kyprianou. Luca Kjerrumgaard will lead the line again, with Nestory Irankunda a candidate to come into the attack if a refresh is needed.
Meanwhile Harrison Armstrong is doing well on his recovery from injury for Preston, but is unlikely to play any part here. “Progressing well, but like I said we're not going to take any risks with it,” Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Lancashire. “When he's 100 per cent and we feel he is, we'll use him.”
Daniel Jebbison is also fit to face his former club, and is raring to go: “Yes, listen, it's nice to get him back fit,” the manager continued. “You can see he came on, charging about the other night. He's got the pace, he's got the athleticism to hurt any team.”
Alfie Devine and Ben Whiteman should feature in the middle of the park again, with Thierry Small set to operate at left wing-back.
Watford vs Preston Predicted Lineups
- Watford - Baxter; Ngakia, Keben, Pollock, Bola; Kyprianou, Louza, Kayembe; Irankunda, Maama, Kjerrumgaard
- Preston - Iversen; Storey, Lindsay, Hughes; Offiah, Thordarson, Whiteman, Devine, Small; Frokjaer-Jensen, Smith
Watford are priced at 10/11 to win this game at Vicarage Road, giving them an implied win probability of 52%. A draw is 11/5, while a Preston victory is priced up at 11/4.
Over 2.5 goals is 11/10, BTTS is 10/11 and Kjerrumgaard is the favourite to score first at 5/1 after he started the comeback against Derby.
Watford vs Preston Stats
- Watford have the third-best home record in the Championship
- Kjerrumgaard has scored five goals this season
Watford to win @ 10/11
Watford have the third-best home record in the league having won five of their eight games at Vicarage Road this season. They are averaging 2.13 points per game in front of their own fans and have massively improved since Javi Gracia returned to the club.
I think Heckingbottom and Preston have done well this term, but I can’t help but feel they will begin to slide down the table - and the home defeat against Blackburn felt like quite a telling result. I’m more than happy to back a home win given the quality the Hornets possess.

Luca Kjerrumgaard to score anytime @ 7/4
Kjerrumgaard is Watford’s on loan Udinese striker, and we’ve seen him perform pretty well, especially in recent weeks. His goal at Pride Park now takes him to five for the season, and it's clear that Gracia is a fan as he has started three of the last four games.
Given Preston have looked a little shaky defensively I think the Watford man can take full advantage and find another goal on home soil against PNE.
