Stoke City will take on a Millwall side (12:30, Sky Sports+)  that is bang in form right now, having just scooped their fourth victory on the bounce in midweek. At the Den, they downed a Leeds side that is gunning for promotion to record their fourth 1-0 success in a row and storm into the top six.

Next up, they travel to a Stoke outfit who also enjoyed midweek success, beating Blackburn 2-0 at Ewood Park. Below you can find my Stoke City vs Millwall predictions featuring team news and betting tips.

Stoke vs Millwall Betting Tips

  • Under 2.5 goals @ 8/13
  • Stoke 1-0 Millwall @ 6/1

Team News

Ben Pearson remains out for Stoke City but could return after the international break while Bosun Lawal is absent with a back injury. Ben Gibson and Ashley Phillips should continue at the back after a clean sheet, with summer signing Victor Johansson impressing in goal.

The Potters have only lost one of their last seven in the league so we are unlikely to see a raft of changes for this one. Million Manhoef and Tom Cannon found goals in midweek and it feels like they are just getting going under Pelach, with Lewis Koumas expected to start once more.

Casper De Norre and Femi Azeez were named as substitutes by Neil Harris in midweek to the surprise of many, but his changes worked a treat as they did enough to secure another win. I think both will come back into the XI here, while Shaun Hutchinson is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench once more.

Japhet Tanganga has been sensational and scored the winner against Leeds, while his partnership with Jake Cooper has seen the Lions keep four clean sheets in a row. Macaulay Langstaff should continue up top, supported by George Honeyman. Billy Mitchell will miss this game, along with the experienced forward Tom Bradshaw.

Stoke City vs Millwall Odds

Stoke are priced at 6/4 to win this game, while Millwall are available at 15/8. That gives the home side an implied win probability of 40%, while a draw can be backed at 11/5. Over 2.5 goals is 6/5, BTTS is 10/11 and Tom Cannon is the favourite to open the scoring at 6/1.

Under 2.5 goals @ 8/13

I don’t believe this game will be particularly thrilling, based on what we have seen from Millwall in recent weeks. They are getting results based upon a brutally tight defence, and four clean sheets in a row is testament to that. I think we will see another tight match here between two sides who have improved defensively of late.

Stoke kept a clean sheet at Blackburn and will look to build on that in front of their own fans, while Millwall, although on a terrific run, haven’t been tearing teams apart. I think at least one of them will keep a clean sheet, so the under 2.5 goals market is the most appealing in my eyes.

Stoke 1-0 Millwall @ 6/1

I know Millwall have won their last four games 1-0, but I’m going to lean towards Stoke to end that winning streak. I think the Potters are on a decent run under Pelach and I’ve seen enough in recent weeks to believe they can trouble the top half of the table. They pushed Southampton all the way in the Carabao Cup and have only lost to an impressive Sheffield United outfit in their last seven league outings.

I’m happy to back only one goal one way or the other this weekend, and backing the correct score in favour of the home side is the best way to squeeze value out of this fixture. It’s going to be a close-fought thing, but I’ll go for a narrow home win.
