Plymouth Argyle vs QPR Prediction: Muslic can steer Argyle to another result at home

Plymouth Argyle welcome Queens Park Rangers to Home Park in the Championship on Saturday (12:30, Sky Sports+) as boss Miron Muslic will look to build on his first point against Oxford United in midweek. That game also came on home turf, so the Pilgrims are now unbeaten in their last two matches here heading into the weekend.
QPR come into this contest off the back of a heavy 6-2 defeat at Leicester City in the FA Cup, but the Rs have lost just one of their previous 11 fixtures in the second tier. Check out my Plymouth Argyle vs QPR prediction below, which is where you will also find the latest team news and match odds.
Plymouth Argyle vs QPR Betting Tips
Plymouth have won four of their 11 league games at Home Park so far, so there is value in their 2/1 price, which carries an implied probability of 33.3%, to win this match.
QPR are 13/10 to come away with the three points, but they have won just one of their last five away trips in the second tier, so this price feels generous. The draw looks alluring at 11/5 (31.3%), as three of the last four games at Home Park have ended in a stalemate. A draw has also been the outcome in three of QPR's previous four appearances in the Championship.
Both teams to score has been a winning selection in each of Plymouth's last four home games, with 4/5 the price for this market on Saturday.
Team News
The Pilgrims were without goalkeeper Conor Hazard against Oxford on Tuesday. The shot-stopper had started four consecutive games since returning from an ankle ligament injury but was left out in midweek with a problem.
Muslic said: "He's injured and he wasn't 100 per cent fit. I had a very good conversation yesterday with him and the risk was just too high if we put him today on the pitch that we lose him for maybe several weeks."
Dan Grimshaw performed well in between the sticks as his understudy, and the former Blackpool man will be raring to go if needed again on Saturday. The hosts were also able to welcome Mustapha Bundu back to the squad on Tuesday, although he didn't receive any minutes.
Muslic might be allowing him to return to full fitness before being considered for selection. A return to the side may be tough after Argyle splashed a club-record fee on forward Michael Baidoo, who led the line against Oxford. Michael Obafemi was limited to a cameo from the bench, so there is fierce competition at the top end of the pitch.
Joe Edwards, Ryan Hardie, Muhamed Tijani and Joe Hatch remain unavailable for the hosts.
QPR winger Paul Smyth was able to shake off a problem to feature from the bench at Leicester last time out, and he will be pushing to start in Devon on the right flank.
Defender Ronnie Edwards, who the Rs have loaned from Southampton, started against the Foxes, and could be in contention to make his full debut in the league on Saturday. Marti Cifuentes would have a decision to make as to who he would join in the heart of defence. Jimmy Dunne seems the most likely candidate, but Morgan Fox's left foot could be beneficial.
Zan Celar (hamstring), Karamoko Dembele (knock), Steve Cook and Liam Morrison remain out of action for the visitors, but everyone else is available for selection at the weekend.
Plymouth or draw and both teams to score @ 13/8
By now we've all seen Muslic's address to his players in the clip that went viral on X, right? It was inspiring stuff. Hell, I was ready to go to war for him. He has instilled some passion and fight into Argyle in just a matter of days, further rubbing salt in the wound of former boss Wayne Rooney.
Muslic was in the stands to see his side pull off a massive FA Cup upset at Brentford, one of the strongest home teams in the country this season, while Plymouth have one of the worst away records.
The Austrian liked what he saw and what he has to work with. A draw with Oxford in midweek is a good result, who themselves have seen an upturn in form with their new coach Gary Rowett.
Muslic will look to build on this against QPR, who are going well at the moment. This is a trickier opponent on paper, but they are arriving at a galvanised Home Park, a place which has already been tough for teams to visit this term.
Two defeats in 11 here for Plymouth, so QPR know this won't be easy. The last two matches have given confidence to the home players, so they will fancy themselves to get a result at the weekend.
QPR are looking strong right now, so this will be a tough game to win but the new manager bounce might just spring up here if the footballing gods are smiling. I've gone with double chance to cover a draw as well, just in case. The Rs have lost just one of their last 11, and they've won two home games on the spin ahead of this clash.
I've boosted this selection by adding the both teams to score market, because there have been goals at both ends in each of the last four matches at Home Park, so I fancy this trend to continue.

Michael Frey anytime goalscorer @ 11/5
After returning to action from a calf issue last month, QPR striker Michael Frey has slowly been getting back into the swing of things in the Championship, and his recent performances have shown the visitors what they have been missing.
The Swiss forward has found the back of the net in his last two league appearances against Watford and Luton Town, so he will be heading south with bags of confidence.
His towering structure makes him a threat from set-pieces, while he is also handy with the ball at his feet. I think 11/5 offers good value for him to score for a third successive league game on Saturday.
