Oxford vs Norwich Prediction: Canaries on song again

Oxford United secured an impressive 0-0 draw at Coventry at the weekend and now sit four points from safety. They’ve improved since Matt Bloomfield arrived, but face a tough test on Tuesday night as they host in-form Norwich (19:45 GMT, Sky Sports+).
Below you will find my Oxford vs Norwich predictions featuring team news and more.

Team News
Oxford boss Bloomfield will have to cope without the suspended Will Lankshear, after he was sent off at the CBS Arena. However, the Spurs loanee didn’t start in the Midlands so there’s a chance that he names an unchanged XI, with Christ Makosso, Michal Helik and Ciaron Brown impressing as the back three against Coventry.
Bloomfield has also suggested to the press that Stan Mills and Jack Currie could return to the squad while Myles Peart-Harris may lead the line ahead of Mark Harris.
Norwich boss Philippe Clement will have to decide whether to start goalscoring substitute Mohamed Toure, who arrived from Randers 10 days ago. Given Jovon Makama rolled his ankle and had to come off against Blackburn he could start, while Mathias Kvistgaarden is another option in the final third.
Oxford vs Norwich Predicted Lineups
- Oxford - Cumming; Makosso, Helik, Brown; Long, McDonnell, Brannagan, Roosken; Placheta, Peart-Harris, Emakhu
- Norwich - Kovacevic; Fisher, McConville, Cordoba, Chrisene; McLean, Wright; Schwartau, Slimane, Ahmed; Toure
Oxford are 21/10 to win this game, while Norwich are the 7/5 favourites, giving them an implied win probability of 42%. A draw is 21/10, over 2.5 goals is 6/5 and BTTS is 5/6.
Oxford vs Norwich Stats
- Norwich have won five of their last six games
- Oxford have failed to score in four of their last six outings
Norwich clean sheet @ 7/4
I’m backing Norwich to win this game pretty comfortably given what they’ve done in recent weeks - winning five of their last six games and only losing to new league leaders Middlesbrough.
They’ve kept two clean sheets in their last four, but I don’t think Oxford should pose too much of an attacking threat. Bloomfield has made them tough to beat and they are defensively compact but they lack a dangerous number nine and they have failed to score in four of thier last six outings. I like the price of a Norwich clean sheet to kick us off.

Price Boost - Norwich to win both halves @ 15/2
Betfred also have a Price Boost for this game which I’ll take advantage of, by backing Norwich to win both halves. I just think the Canaries are a fantastic team under Clement and since he came in they have been tracking like a top-six side.
Six wins in their last 10 games has them as the fifth best team in the league and although they are unlikely to make the play-offs as they sit 11 points behind Wrexham, it’s not impossible. Oxford are more competitive under Bloomfield but their squad just isn’t as good as most in the Championship and it is why they sit second-bottom. Norwich could win both halves at the Kassam.
