Norwich vs Watford Prediction: Great Dane Kjerrumgaard can torment Canaries again

Norwich City welcome Watford to Carrow Road this Monday, December 29 (19:45 GMT). This festive tie finds the Canaries flying low in 23rd place while the Hornets are heading skywards with the play-offs in their sights.
Javi Gracia’s men have not lost since December 1 against big-spending Birmingham City. Interestingly, the only defeat Norwich have suffered during the final month of 2025 came against the Hornets in a 3-2 thriller. Read on for my Norwich vs Watford predictions, featuring the latest match odds and team news.

Team News
Canaries striker Josh Sargent has passed concussion protocols, but is still reportedly short of a 100% recovery and is set to miss out. That should open the door for Jovon Makama to start once again in the American’s place.
Amankwah Forson is another miss in attack after a hamstring complaint saw him come off against Preston. He is joined by Gabriel Forsyth, Jeffrey Schlupp, Shane Duffy, Papa Amadou Diallo and Ante Crnac on the injured list.
Watford will continue without Mamadou Doumbia (Mali) and Edo Kayembe (DR Congo) due to their Africa Cup of Nations participation.
Injury absences include Caleb Wiley, Kwadwo Baah, Jack Grieves and Rocco Vata.
Norwich vs Watford Predicted Lineups
- Norwich: Kovacevic; Fisher, McConville, Darling, Chrisene; McLean, Mattsson; Springett, Wright, Schwartau; Makama
- Watford: Selvik; Ngakia, Pollock, Alleyne, Bola; Irankunda, Kyprianou, Louza, Maamma; Chakvetadze, Kjerrumgaard
The hosts are priced at 6/4 to get revenge on a Watford side that edged them out earlier this month. Javi Gracia’s High Flying Hornets (coming to a festival near you) are 7/4 to get the job done while the stalemate is 12/5.
Norwich vs Watford Stats
- Watford have won 9 of their last 14 meetings with Norwich.
- The Canaries have created 36 big chances in the Championship this season, but have only converted 16 of them.
Watford win and Both Teams to Score @ 18/5
This is perhaps a brave call, given the fact Norwich are in far better form than their lowly league placing suggests. But then Watford are finally getting a tune out of a talented squad in the only way they know how; by hiring their third manager in the last 12 months.
Gracia’s October arrival to replace the hapless Paulo Pezzolano was not a quick-fix. Rather, the returning Spaniard has carefully put his ducks in a row. The proof is in the form table. Since the start of November, Watford have lost just once in 10 games.
The Canaries are improving, with a win and two draws since their earlier meeting against the Hornets. But that 3-2 win lives long in the memory and it feels like Gracia’s men have Norwich’s number.
The BTTS element has landed in nine of each side’s last 10 games. One fancies it to do so again at Carrow Road.

Luca Kjerrumgaard Anytime Goalscorer @ 7/4
The Watford forward was on fire against the same opponents earlier this month. Kjerrumgaard provided both equalisers which set the stage for Tom Ince to score a 78th-minute winner at Vicarage Road.
The on-loan Dane from Udinese is Watford’s top scorer, hitting seven goals in 21 games this season. Not spectacular, but if the Hornets make the breakthrough it is often through Kjerrumgaard. Creative force Imran Louza is next on the list with six goals, bolstered by six assists.
The 7/4 price implies a 36.4% probability.
