Norwich City vs Luton Town Prediction: Sainz on song once again?

Luton Town are in a difficult spot right now, and Rob Edwards is desperate to get some wins on the board to alleviate the pressure that is weighing down on him. After a 3-0 defeat to Leeds in midweek, Luton are currently 16th in the Championship having picked up 18 points from 17 games, which is a major underperformance given they were in the Premier League this time last season.
Their next test comes away at Carrow Road (15:00, Saturday) as Norwich City look to push back towards the play-offs. Below you can find my Norwich City vs Luton Town predictions featuring team news and betting tips.
Norwich City vs Luton Town Betting Tips
Team News
Norwich could stick with the same line-up that hammered Plymouth in midweek. Ante Crnac is likely to continue in the number nine role in the absence of Josh Sargent, while Borja Sainz will start from the left having bagged another hat-trick in midweek.
Anis Ben Slimane scored from the bench against Argyle, but he is probably going to have to settle for a spot as a substitute once more. Jacob Sorensen, Kenny McLean and Emiliano Marcondes should retain their places in the midfield, while Kellen Fisher is back from suspension to challenge Jack Stacey at right-back. Marcelino Nunez remains sidelined through injury.
Luton made several changes in a bid to try and stop Leeds, and the likes of Daiko Hashioka, Tahith Chong and Elijah Adebayo should all return to the line-up here. Carlton Morris should lead the line again alongside Adebayo, while Tom Holmes could also return to the back three if Edwards fancies another change up.
The absence of Alfie Doughty has affected this side massively, and he is getting closer to a return but Saturday will come too soon for the left wing-back. Marvelous Nakamba and Jordan Clark should continue in midfield as Edwards looks for an instant response to that heavy defeat.
Norwich City vs Luton Town Odds
Norwich are priced at 11/10 to win this game, with Luton available at 23/10. That gives the home side a win probability of 47%, while a draw can be backed at 13/5. Over 2.5 goals is 4/5, BTTS is 4/6 and Borja Sainz is the favourite to score first at 4/1.
Borja Sainz to score anytime @ 7/5
The most obvious selection and one I have picked out many times already this season, for good reason. Sainz has been the best player in the Championship in 2024/25 and his numbers are just getting better and better. A midweek hat-trick at home to Plymouth took his total to 14 goals from 17 league games this term, which is double the number that Joel Piroe has scored for Leeds.
Sainz is on fire right now, and his goalscoring exploits show no signs of slowing, even without his partner in crime, Sargent. The Spaniard continues to step up to the plate for the Canaries and having gone three games without a goal, ended that mini-drought in style against Argyle. I don’t think that Luton have what it takes to stop him given what we have seen from them, so am happy to back Sainz to find the net on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City to win @ 11/10
I will also back the home side to come out with three points here. We’ve seen enough from Johannes Hoff Thorup to suggest he can get this Norwich side somewhere near the play-offs and even with two key injuries, the Canaries are going along nicely.
My main concern surrounds Luton though for this game, and I’m worried for the future of Edwards, particularly with a manager such as Mark Robins currently out of work. He seems stubborn in his methods right now, and I’m not sure the back three is the solution to their ongoing woes.
