Hull City are gunning for a fifth consecutive victory in the Championship when they welcome Watford to the MKM Stadium on Tuesday (19:45 GMT, Sky Sports+). The Hornets are led by Charlie Daniels, who has temporarily taken charge of the first team following Javi Gracia's resignation on Sunday.

Team News

Hull are having to deal with a number of injuries right now, with Matt Crooks, Ryan Giles, Mohamed Belloumi, Semi Ajayi (all hamstring), Cody Drameh (quad) and Darko Gyabi (groin) all sidelined.

Lewis Koumas, who joined the club on loan from Liverpool, marked his debut with the winning goal at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, and he may be pushing to start in midweek.

Football Odds

With Gracia departing Watford and Daniels in interim charge, it is hard to guess how the Hornets will line up on Tuesday. They have announced that veteran midfielder Moussa Sissoko has departed for Panathinaikos.

Nestory Irankunda will serve the first of a three-game suspension for his red card in the defeat at Swansea City on Saturday. Rocco Vata, Mattie Pollock (both hamstring) and Pierre Dwomoh (thigh) are missing due to injury.

Hull vs Watford Predicted Lineups

  • Hull: Pandur; Coyle, Egan, Hughes, Famewo; Slater, Hadziahmetovic; Koumas, Gelhardt, Millar; McBurnie
  • Watford: Selvik; Ngakia, Keben, Abankwah, Bola; Kayembe, Louza; Maamma, Doumbia, Ince; Kjerrumgaard

Today's Football Fixtures

Hull vs Watford Odds

Hull are a valuable 5/4 (implied probability of 44.4%) to claim the three points and extend their winning run to five matches.

Watford have drawn two of their previous three outings in the Championship, and the stalemate is on offer at 23/10. The Hornets are 11/5 to end their four-game winless run, but they did win the reverse fixture 2-1 back in September.

Hull forward Oli McBurnie is the 7/4 favourite to score anytime, and he has bagged 11 league goals already this term.

Hull vs Watford Stats

  • Hull have won 4 league games on the spin
  • Watford are winless in their last 4 Championship matches
  • Hull have scored 2-plus goals in 3 of their previous 4 fixtures

Match Result - Hull @ 5/4

This match gives Hull a huge opportunity to close the gap on the top two in Coventry City and Middlesbrough. This is the Tigers' game in hand on the sides above them and a win over Watford would see them move to within three points of top spot.

Hull have been a revelation this season after narrowly avoiding relegation in 2024/25, with boss Sergej Jakirovic transforming them in such a short space of time. The Tigers are on a four-game winning streak and they have plenty of momentum behind them.

They have been given a boost by Gracia departing Watford, so this will be deemed a free hit for the home side, who are looking to strengthen their promotion credentials.

The visitors are without a win in their last four games in the second tier, so confidence is low in their camp. Hull have been very impressive in this campaign and I am backing them to extend their winning streak to five matches.

Home Team Total Goals - Over 1.5 @ 6/5

With the uncertainty surrounding Watford right now, Hull's attacking players should be primed to capitalise at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday. The Tigers are the third-highest scorers in the division with 48 goals, with Coventry (63) and Ipswich Town (49) the only clubs with more goals in the Championship this term.

I think 6/5 is an attractive price for the hosts to score at least two goals in this match given how impressive they have been in the final third. Hull have scored two-plus goals in three of their four-game winning streak, including their last home appearance against Swansea.
