Middlesbrough 1-1 Millwall @ 7/1
The blockbuster clash of the Championship weekend gets underway at 12:30 on Friday, live on Sky Sports Main Event. Middlesbrough host Millwall in the race for second spot, with Ipswich having drawn 1-1 with the Lions last time out.
Alex Neil would love to land a key blow on a Boro side that have only picked up two points from their last three, but I can see this being yet another stalemate between two promotion rivals.
Conor: 1-1
Leicester 1-0 Preston @ 13/2
Gary Rowett has to start picking up wins to take Leicester out of the bottom three - and a home game against a Preston team with nothing to play for presents a perfect opportunity. Four points from their last three games for the Foxes is passable, while Preston ended a run of four straight defeats with victory of Stoke before the international break.
Still backing a narrow home win here.
Conor: 1-1
Norwich 2-1 Portsmouth @ 15/2
Norwich have been utterly sensational under Philippe Clement. Although they’ve got probably too much ground to make up on the top six - they have won five of their last six league games while Pompey are sliding towards the bottom three.
Portsmouth have lost their last three on the bounce, and I think the Canaries will win again.
Conor: 2-0
Oxford 1-1 Hull @ 11/2
Ten points in four games has given Oxford a serious shot at survival, and although they lost to Southampton last time out, that is to be expected given their form right now. Back at the Kassam, they will hope to land a key blow on Hull’s on promotion challenge, with the Tigers up in fifth. I can’t call this one - so I will sit on the fence.
Conor: 2-1

Charlton 2-0 Bristol City @ 12/1
Bristol City manager Roy Hodgson - not a sentence I thought I’d be writing in 2026 - travel to Charlton for his first game in charge. Unfortunately for the Robins I don’t envisage much of an upturn in form, and Charlton can move level on points with them with a win.
Nathan Jones has done a superb job, and only one win from the 50-point mark, I think the Addicks will win this one.
Conor: 1-0
Stoke 1-0 Sheffield Wed @ 11/2
Stoke have been really poor for the last 20+ matches in the Championship, but they are facing Sheffield Wednesday, so I will back them to win. Just.
Conor: 1-1
Sheff Utd 3-2 Swansea @ 22/1
Let’s go for goals in this game between two teams with nothing to play for. Sheffield United have fallen short this season but they could open up now the pressure is off, while Swansea boast the top goalscorer in the league in the form of Zan Vipotnik. I think this could turn into quite a fun game at Bramall Lane - let’s back the Blades to edge a thriller.
Conor: 2-1
QPR 2-1 Watford @ 9/1
Two more teams with nothing to play for, but QPR certainly put in a memorable performance prior to the international break as they hammered Portsmouth 6-1 at home. Watford are inconsistent under Ed Still and have also slipped away from the play-off picture. Home win.
Conor: 1-1

Birmingham 0-0 Blackburn @ 13/2
Birmingham City have arguably been the most disappointing team in the Championship this season given the pre-season hype. They are now set for a mid-table finish, with fan frustration spilling ove at manager Chris Davies before the break.
It will be interesting to see how his future plays out, with Birmingham’s form from now until the end of the season potentially the deciding factor in whether he stays next season. Blackburn have taken an impressive four points from two games against Millwall and Middlesbrough, and they could get another point here.
Conor: 1-1
WBA 1-1 Wrexham @ 11/2
Another revived team at the bottom are West Brom, who have climbed out of the bottom three with two wins in a row. That follows up two good draws with Sheffield United and Southampton and there’s a real belief that James Morrison will keep them up.
Wrexham have fallen out of the top six but are still in a great position, but this represents a tough test. Once again, I’m on the fence I’m afraid.
Conor: 1-1
Coventry 1-1 Derby @ 7/1
League leaders Coventry will be well-fancied to beat Derby on Friday night but John Eustace’s men have won four of their last five and are still pushing for the play-offs. Coventry could be missing a few key internationals given Ephron Mason-Clark and Joel Latibeaudiere played for Jamaica late on Tuesday night - so I’ll back a conservative draw at the CBS Arena.
Conor: 3-1
