After a thrilling midweek of EFL Championship action, Coventry lead the way by five points, having got a vital win at Bramall Lane on Wednesday.

Our own predictions title race also looks set to go to the wire, myself and Conor tussle it out at the top. Check out our gameweek 35 Championship Predictions down below.

Bristol City 1-1 Watford @ 5/1

Bristol City are so tough to predict right now. They beat Blackburn in midweek but in their two prior home games they have drawn with Wrexham and been beaten 5-0 by Derby. Watford beat Derby 2-0 in midweek and Ed Still is trying to unleash their attacking talent. A win would be major for either side - but I’ll plump for a draw.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 1-1

Leicester 1-1 Norwich @ 11/2

Gary Rowett has certainly improved Leicester and with back-to-back draws, they welcome Norwich to the King Power. The Foxes are in need of wins if they are to get themselves out of danger, but Norwich have been a wonderful side under Philippe Clement. Another draw.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-1

Derby 2-0 Blackburn @ 9/1

Derby should have beaten Hull in midweek, but once again the Tigers came out on top, so John Eustace will hope to get back to winning ways. Two defeats in a row has dropped the Rams down to 11th, but a home game against Blackburn should lead to a comfortable win.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 2-1

Portsmouth 2-2 Hull @ 12/1

Portsmouth have given their survival bid a boost recently with back-to-back away wins, but they couldn’t follow it up at Wrexham in midweek as they lost 2-1. A return to Fratton Park will be welcome, and a game against a wonderful entertaining Hull team should lead to goals at both ends.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 2-1

QPR 1-2 Sheff Utd @ 15/2

Sheffield United’s push for the play-offs looks to be almost dead in the water barring a miracle, after home defeats to Coventry and Middlesbrough recently. Wins over Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday helped them out, and I think they can go to an unconvincing QPR side and win.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 1-2

Charlton 0-1 Wrexham @ 6/1

Wrexham are flying right now with three wins out of their last four in all competitions, and they currently sit sixth - well in the play-off race. Charlton drew at West Brom in midweek, their third draw in their last five games, and look like this steady accumulation of points should keep them in the league. I’ll back Wrexham to come away with a massive three points. Just.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-1

Sheff Wed 0-3 Southampton @ 15/2

Should be straightforward. Wednesday have already been relegated, and Southampton are flying and on the brink of the play-offs, just four points behind Wrexham. Should be a case of how many for the visitors.

Nick: 0-4

Conor: 0-4

Ipswich 3-1 Swansea @ 11/1

Ipswich’s win at Watford was impressive, and the two games in hand make them dangerous for the top two. They have a rare home game this weekend, against Swansea, and should be able to find an important three points - but I’ll back the visitors to find the net given they boast the top scorer in the league in the form of Zan Vipotnik.

Nick: 3-1

Conor: 2-1

Coventry 3-0 Stoke @ 10/1

The Sky Blues are back. Three wins in a row have taken them five points clear at the top of the league again, and the way they are grinding out the results now is seriously impressive. Former boss Mark Robins comes to town having ended a poor run of results in midweek with a victory over Oxford - but I think the Potters will lose this one.

Nick: 3-0

Conor: 3-1

Oxford 1-0 West Brom @ 7/1

West Brom parted ways with Eric Ramsay after nine winless matches, and they face a relegation six-pointer away at Oxford on Saturday. The U’s need to win this one to have any chance of survival, and I’ll back them to get a crucial win over a beleaguered West Brom.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-0

Preston 0-2 Millwall @ 10/1

Millwall hammered Birmingham in midweek and I’m expecting them to follow it up with a win against a Preston team that has now failed to win in three after conceding late at Swansea on Tuesday. Their play-off charge looks to be fading, as Millwall continue to stay the course.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 0-2

Birmingham 2-2 Middlesbrough @ 11/1

Middlesbrough are winless in three and have failed to beat both Oxford and Leicester at home in their last two games. A trip to Birmingham then is far from ideal, but Chris Davies will need a response after losing 3-0 at Millwall. I’m expecting goals - and another Boro draw.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 2-1
