Bristol City 2-0 Derby @ 17/2

This is a really tough one to predict, given Derby are unbeaten in their last three and should have beaten West Brom last time out. However, Bristol City have been good at home, winning seven out of 15, and I think the Rams have been inconsistent so far this term. Home win to nil, but I’m not convinced.

Nick: 1-0

Conor: 1-1

Leicester 1-1 Charlton @ 11/2

How will Leicester respond to the sacking of Marti Cifuentes? Will they play with a new belief, or are we going to see more miserable performances at the King Power? A home game against Charlton is kind, given the Addicks are in really poor form - but Nathan Jones will demand a reaction after they lost 4-0 to Millwall. I think they can get something here.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 1-1

Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Wrexham @ 5/1

Predicting Sheffield Wednesday to lose is nothing new. Barry Bannan has now departed, and Wrexham are in the top six, so they should secure a comfortable away win. I’ll go for 2-0, but it could be a whole lot more.

Nick: 1-3

Conor: 0-3

Stoke 1-1 Southampton @ 11/2

This feels like a draw every day of the week. Stoke drew 1-1 with Birmingham last weekend, while Southampton drew 1-1 with Portsmouth, so you can see where I’m going with this one. Tonda Eckert can’t get Saints going, while Stoke are on the fringes of the play-offs. A stalemate won’t help either.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-1

Blackburn 1-3 Hull @ 25/1

Blackburn are in trouble this season, while Hull are absolutely flying. The Tigers have won three in a row, are up to fourth in the league, and beat Preston 3-0 in their last away game. This should be another comprehensive away success.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 0-3

Ipswich 2-0 Preston @ 5/1

Ipswich were stunned by Sheffield United as their winning run came to an end, but back on home soil they should get back to winning ways. Preston provide a kind opponent given they have lost four games in a row without scoring, and the Tractor Boys have won six in a row at home. A straightforward selection.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 2-0

Middlesbrough 2-1 Norwich @ 7/1

Middlesbrough are flying. Kim Hellberg has overseen four wins on the bounce, and they look really good right now, just three points behind Coventry. Norwich sank Coventry at Carrow Road on Monday night and are flying right now, with Jovon Makama so difficult to stop - but I just have to edge towards the home side on this occasion.

Nick: 3-2

Conor: 3-2

Millwall 3-2 Sheffield United @ 25/1

Millwall are also flying in the Championship right now, having won three of their last four games, and the win over Charlton was incredibly impressive. Alex Neil’s Lions are play-off bound, and with Femi Azeez, could beat any team in the league.

Sheffield United bounced back from two defeats in a row by beating Ipswich, but they are without the suspended Patrick Bamford after his red card. I’m going for a high-scoring home win.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 2-1

Oxford 1-1 Birmingham @ 11/2

Oxford have really improved under new boss Matt Bloomfield, winning one and drawing two of his three games in charge. A win over Leicester gave them a boost in their survival bid, and they should be able to continue that momentum as they host a Birmingham outfit with a dreadful away record. I’ll back a 1-1 at the Kassam.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 1-1

Portsmouth 1-0 West Brom @ 7/1

The most important game of the weekend? This relegation six-pointer is absolutely gargantuan to the survival hopes of both Pompey and West Brom, as the away side ended a run of 10 straight away defeats with a 1-1 draw with Derby.

Portsmouth also drew 1-1 at the weekend, but have improved lately, only losing one of their last five, and I think the Fratton Park roar might just give them the edge against Eric Ramsay’s struggling Baggies.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 2-1

QPR 1-1 Coventry @ 11/2

Coventry are in a little spot of bother right now. Winless in their last seven away games, they were beaten at Norwich after going 1-0 up, and they look so open at the back, given they are currently leading the way. No clean sheet in their last seven in all competitions speaks volumes about the defensive concerns, and I can’t see that changing here. I’ll back a draw in the capital.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 2-2

Watford 2-1 Swansea @ 8/1

Watford have been massively disappointing in the last week, going from fourth to eighth with two points from three matches. They’ve drawn with two relegation contenders in the form of Pompey and Blackburn, and need to get back to winning ways here.

I think they can do it - just - against a Swansea team that features the Championship’s top scorer, Zan Vipotnik. Both teams to score, and a home win.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 2-1
