Championship Predictions: Norwich next to feel Southampton’s wrath

Myself and Simon had a productive midweek in the Championship with three and two correct scores respectively. Nick had to settle for just one, so he has work to do in Gameweek 21.
You will find our latest Championship Predictions below.

West Brom vs Sheff Utd (Fri 20:00) - 1-2 @ 9/1
West Bromwich Albion were the latest team to feel the wrath of a resurgent Southampton side in midweek, but it was to be expected anyway as the Baggies have a poor away record.
Their last home game saw them come from behind to beat Swansea City, so they will hope that their meeting at The Hawthorns against Sheffield United will see them make a statement. However, the Blades have won four of their last five in the league and I think they can edge this clash on Friday night.
Nick: 1-2
Simon: 0-2
Norwich vs Southampton (Sat 12:30) - 1-4 @ 28/1
Norwich are still struggling to claw their way out of the relegation zone and the last thing they need is to be taking on Southampton, who have won six of their previous seven outings in the second tier, and who have also been scoring for fun.
I'm predicting another miserable afternoon for the Canaries.
Nick: 1-3
Simon: 1-2
Oxford vs Preston (Sat 12:30) - 1-1 @ 5/1
Oxford United picked up a valuable point on the road at Blackburn Rovers in midweek, and up next for them is another side from Lancashire as Preston North End head to the Kassam Stadium.
The Lilywhites rescued a point with 10 men at home to league leaders Coventry City last time out, so they should be good for at least a point here.
Nick: 1-1
Simon: 1-1
Stoke vs Swansea (Sat 12:30) - 1-1 @ 11/2
Stoke City are going through a rough patch in the Championship, which is far from ideal during the busy festive period. The Potters have lost four of their last five games, including three on the bounce heading into Saturday's home clash with Swansea City.
The Swans have won consecutive matches in the league for the first time this season but they were both on home turf. They will hope to translate that form on their travels and given the state of their hosts right now, I fancy them to come away with a point.
Nick: 2-0
Simon: 1-0

Birmingham vs Charlton (Sat 15:00) - 3-1 @ 12/1
Birmingham City's horrendous away form continued on Tuesday as they lost 2-1 at Queens Park Rangers. Despite offering nothing for much of the game, they somehow managed to equalise in stoppage time, only to concede again minutes later.
Luckily for them, they are doing well at home and up next for them at St. Andrew's is Charlton Athletic, who have lost five matches in a row. This will be seen as a free hit for the Blues, but I can see the Addicks getting in on the action.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 2-0
Coventry vs Bristol City (Sat 15:00) - 3-1 @ 12/1
Are Coventry ok? They are winless in two games and they had to settle for a point against 10-man Preston last time out. Frank Lampard and his players will look to bounce back at home when they face Bristol City on Saturday.
The Robins' form of late has been up and down and I think they will fall to defeat here as the Sky Blues have won each of their previous six league fixtures at the CBS Arena.
Nick: 4-1
Simon: 2-1
Leicester vs Ipswich (Sat 15:00) - 1-2 @ 15/2
After a humiliating defeat at home to Sheffield United a couple of weeks ago, Leicester City have responded with an away win at Derby County and a draw at Bristol City last time out, despite being 2-0 up in the game.
A tough test awaits the Foxes this weekend as they entertain Ipswich Town at the King Power Stadium. The Tractor Boys have won their last two outings in the second tier, and I do believe they will go out and edge this contest.
Nick: 1-2
Simon: 1-2
Middlesbrough vs QPR (Sat 15:00) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Middlesbrough have won their last three matches in the Championship, and they host QPR at the Riverside on Saturday. Tuesday's win over Birmingham saw the Rs move into the top six, and they can prove to be a tricky opponent for the Teessiders.
However, Boro are on a much better run at the moment, and I think their individual quality trumps that of the visitors, so I am backing them to land a fourth successive victory.
Nick: 2-0
Simon: 4-1
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Millwall vs Hull (Sat 15:00) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Millwall will be enjoying the view from third in the table as they have won three of their last four contests in the league. The Lions saw their win streak end in midweek but they picked up a valuable point at Derby County.
They host Hull City on Saturday, with the Tigers beating Wrexham 2-0 at home last time out, but heading to The Den is going to be a tough test for Sergej Jakirovic and his players.
This could be a tight affair, but I have the hosts coming out on top.
Nick: 1-0
Simon: 2-1
Portsmouth vs Blackburn (Sat 15:00) - 1-2 @ 17/2
Portsmouth just can't get going in the Championship as they remain stuck in the bottom three. Pompey have lost three games in a row as they prepare to host Blackburn at Fratton Park on Saturday.
Rovers have tended to perform a lot better on their travels this term and they will be hoping that can help them pick up three points on the South Coast. The visitors have drawn three matches in a row, but I do fancy them to land an important victory here.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 1-0
Wrexham vs Watford (Sat 15:00) - 2-1 @ 17/2
After suffering a first league defeat since October against Hull, Wrexham are going to be fired up to deliver an instant response as they entertain Watford at the Racecourse.
The Hornets are unbeaten in their last two matches, but question marks will be raised as they were held to a draw against Sheffield Wednesday last time out. Watford are another team who tend to struggle on their travels and I can see the Red Dragons doing a job over them.
Nick: 3-1
Simon: 2-2
Sheff Wed vs Derby (Mon 20:00) - 1-2 @ 8/1
After picking up a point at Watford, there should be a degree of confidence among the Sheffield Wednesday players on Monday as Derby make the short trip.
The Rams ended a two-game losing streak with a hard-fought point at home to Millwall in the week, and they will be looking to come away with the three points at Hillsborough. It won't be easy, but I am backing the visitors to get the job done.
Nick: 1-3
Simon: 0-2
