The Championship play-offs are here and The Sportsman Untitled have brought you a belting play-off show to preview the semi-finals. Hosted by a very smug Leeds United fan in the form of Conor McGiligan, he is joined by a representative from each of the clubs taking part.

You can watch the full video below, which sees the panel predict what they think is going to happen in both semi-finals - before they deliver their play-off winner. We’ve also covered the Championship promotion odds and more in this article, which features this bumper episode.

Championship Promotion Odds 2024/25

  • Sheffield United @ 7/4
  • Sunderland @ 11/4
  • Coventry @ 3/1
  • Bristol City @ 7/2

As you can see from the odds, Sheffield United are the marginal favourites to get promoted from the play-offs, which you would expect given they finished on 90 points, 22 clear of their semi-final opponents Bristol City.

However, Sheffield United have never won the play-offs, painfully losing on eight previous attempts to get up via this method. In fact, Sheffield United fans will be keen to remind us all that it’s also been 100 years since they won at Wembley -  a record that will have to end this season if they are to be playing Premier League football next term.

Blades contributor Oli from Sheff United Way takes a few jibes from Leeds fan Conor about the Blades ending up in the play-offs, but ultimately believes the Blades “should” win promotion based on the season we have seen so far. Pete, our Bristol City contributor from One Stream in Bristol, is just happy to be here for the first time in 17 seasons.

Championship Promotion Odds

They lost the final to Hull City and Dean Windass back in 2008 but have not challenged for promotion since - being steady in mid-table for the past five years. Liam Manning has done a terrific job to get them here, but he will have the freedom of the city if he takes them to the Premier League for the first time.

The odds follow the order of the table as Sunderland finished fourth. The Black Cats were title contenders over the first half of the season but their representative Jonny of Roker Report is a little concerned that they are entering the play-offs after five defeats in a row - especially given they are coming up against Coventry.

The Sky Blues haven’t lost in their last 10 games against the Black Cats and beat them 3-0 in March, as Frank Lampard’s men have surged into the promotion picture. Simon from That Cov Pod, our regular host, is full of confidence as his side approach their second play-off campaign in three years.

The gang finish by naming the team they think will win the play-offs, which they also build an XI from their clubs that they think might have been able to compete with Leeds and Burnley at the top of the division. Spoiler - it doesn’t go that well. Make sure you like and subscribe to The Sportsman on YouTube for more Championship previews and reaction.
