Team News

QPR have a major doubt over Sam Field after he was taken off at half-time in the weekend draw with Sheffield Wednesday, while Morgan Fox and Ilias Chair are again set to sit the game out due to injury.

Oliver Glasner is expected to make some changes for Palace, but Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze, Tyrick Mitchell and Marc Guehi all started in the second-round win over Norwich so they could be among the first-team regulars included again.

Adam Wharton and summer signing Eddie Nketiah may be among those rested, while on-loan Trevor Chalobah is absent through injury.

QPR vs Crystal Palace Odds

The Championship team are unsurprisingly the underdogs at 7/2 to win the tie, with Palace available at 8/11, while a draw at full-time is 13/5.

Both teams to score is 8/11, while over 2.5 goals on the night is 4/5 and over 3.5 goals is 2/1.

QPR to win @ 7/2

QPR have enjoyed a solid start to the season, advancing to the third round of the EFL Cup thanks to wins over Cambridge and Luton, while they have picked up six points from their first five league games to sit in mid-table in the early Championship standings.

Marti Cifuentes’ side have only won once in the league - another success over Luton - but they have been difficult to beat, racking up three creditable draws against Plymouth, Sheffield United and, on Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday.

They may sense an upset is on the cards in midweek as Palace boss Glasner is likely to rotate his squad and the Eagles head to Loftus Road yet to taste victory in the top flight this term, drawing with Chelsea and Leicester and losing to Brentford and West Ham.

They did comfortably see off Norwich 4-0 at home in the previous round of the EFL Cup but this looks a stiffer test and a fired-up Rangers side can cause them plenty of problems.

Both teams to score - Yes @ 8/11

Backing both teams to score at Loftus Road looks a wise selection.

Palace have only failed to find the back of the net in one of their five outings so far - the 2-0 home defeat against the Hammers - while the R’s have been on the scoresheet in all seven of their matches in all competitions.

There looks to be plenty of firepower in both squads to suggest we will see goals at both ends on Tuesday.

Palace forward Mateta opened his league account with two goals at the weekend to salvage a draw against the Foxes, having already scored a brace against Norwich in this competition last month, while QPR striker Michael Frey has hit three goals in just six appearances.
