Arsenal vs Newcastle United Predictions

  • Double Chance - Draw or Newcastle @ 11/10
  • Sandro Tonali to score anytime @ 8/1

Arsenal vs Newcastle United Odds

Arsenal are favourites to win the first leg at 8/11, with Newcastle 18/5 for victory and the draw 3/1.

Both teams to score is 8/13 and over 3.5 goals is available at 6/4.

Team News

Ethan Nwaneri is a major doubt for Arsenal after he came off at half-time at Brighton with a muscle strain and the 17-year-old is set to join Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the sidelines. Jurrien Timber is available for the hosts, though, following suspension.

Newcastle are without banned duo Fabian Schar and Bruno Guimaraes, while Emil Krafth, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles all remain out injured. Sven Botman is unlikely to be risked after he made his return from an ACL injury at the weekend.

Double Chance - Draw or Newcastle @ 11/10

Newcastle are flying at the minute as Eddie Howe’s side have followed up their 3-1 home win over Brentford in the quarter-final of this competition with four straight victories in the Premier League.

Wins to nil over Ipswich, Aston Villa and Manchester United, plus Saturday’s 2-1 success at Tottenham, mean the Magpies are up to fifth in the Premier League and they look ready to scrap for a top-four finish in the second half of the season.

Winning a trophy is also a priority for Howe as he aims to be the Newcastle boss that finally ends the club’s long wait for silverware.

His side can come away from the Emirates in good shape, avoiding defeat to put them in a great position to book a Wembley place in next month’s second leg at home.

Arsenal are unbeaten at home all season, but were wasteful in a 0-0 Emirates draw with Everton last month and were poor in the second half on Saturday when drawing 1-1 at Brighton.

The Gunners also have big games coming up against Manchester United in the FA Cup and local rivals Tottenham in the league, so Newcastle might just be catching them at the right time on Tuesday.

Sandro Tonali to score anytime @ 8/1

Midfielder Sandro Tonali has impressed for Newcastle recently as he has worked well alongside Guimaraes and Joelinton.

The trio have been able to dictate games for Howe's side and Tonali could well inspire the Magpies to soar even higher in the second half of the campaign.

The Italian is still looking for his first Premier League goal this season, but he starred in the previous round of the EFL Cup, scoring twice against Brentford, and he has not been shy when it comes to shooting lately.

The 24-year-old has had at least one shot in his last eight outings for the Magpies, accumulating 16 shots in total in those games, so if he maintains that attacking approach, goals should follow.
