Cagliari vs Venezia Prediction: Both teams can score in Italy

Cagliari were unable to clinch Serie A safety last weekend, losing 3-1 at in-form Como, and with two of the bottom three, Empoli and Lecce, securing positive results on matchday 36, the gap between them and the relegation zone has been cut to five points.
Still, they have another chance to retain their top-tier status on Sunday (19:45), when they welcome fellow strugglers Venezia to Unipol Domus. I Leoni Alati are currently 17th, just a point ahead of the drop zone, but a victory here would move them to within a point of their next opponents. Read on for my Cagliari vs Venezia predictions, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Florinel Coman (Achilles) and Yerry Mina (thigh) are out injured for Cagliari, who will also be without the suspended Leonardo Pavoletti due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
Changes could be made to Davide Nicola's starting XI following last weekend's defeat to Como, with Mattia Felici, Alessandro Deiola, Razvan Marin and Gianluca Gaetano all vying for promotions.
Pavoletti won't need to be replaced in the line-up, though, as he was only a 72nd-minute substitute against Como.
Cagliari vs Venezia Stats
- BTTS - Yes has struck in four of Venezia's last six games
- Venezia won December's H2H 2-1
Venezia announced earlier this week that midfielder Cheick Conde had undergone surgery for the 'osteosynthesis of his right fibula', following an injury sustained during Monday's 2-1 victory over Fiorentina.
Conde has already begun his rehabilitation process, but will, of course, miss the rest of the current campaign.
The Guinea international joins Alfred Duncan (calf), Richie Sagrado (muscle) and Michael Svoboda (knee) in the Venezia treatment room.
Cagliari lost 2-1 in December's reverse fixture, but Gli Isolani are favourites to wreak their revenge this Sunday, with odds of 6/4 implying a 40% win probability, while Venezia are 2/1, or a 33.3% chance, to do the double.
The draw is priced at 21/10 and over 2.5 total goals at 11/10, while a repeat of that scoreline in Venezia's favour is 10/1.
Both Team To Score - Yes @ 4/5
There is a danger that Cagliari will try to turn this into a slog match and grind out a goalless draw, which would likely be enough to secure their safety.
However, that is a dangerous approach, particularly as their opponents have so much to play for, and with Juventus in their final game next weekend, the visitors need to go out for all three points on Sunday.
Both teams to score was a successful selection in my Venezia-Fiorentina preview on Monday, landing at 10/11 when tipped.
Venezia have now scored in five of their last six games, with BTTS - Yes landing in four of them.
Cagliari, meanwhile, have found the net in their last five matches, but conceded multiple goals in four. Gli Isolani are joint-sixth in the Serie A BTTS table this season, with 53% of their contests seeing at least one goal on either side.
Three goals were scored when Cagliari and Venezia met earlier in the campaign, with the latter emerging 2-1 winners in Venice, and at just under EVS, I think it's a bet worth taking on again this Sunday.
