Burnley are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in the EFL Championship and they will be looking to extend that run when they welcome Stoke City to Turf Moor on Wednesday (15:00, Sky Sports+). Scott Parker's side are also yet to taste defeat on home soil this season.

Stoke picked up an important win at home against Sunderland last time out in Ryan Shawcross' first game in caretaker charge of the Potters. Read on for my Burnley vs Stoke City prediction, alongside the latest match odds and team news.

Burnley vs Stoke City Betting Tips

  • Burnley to win to nil @ 6/5
  • Josh Brownhill anytime goalscorer @ 9/4

Burnley vs Stoke City Odds

Burnley are 8/15, which carries an implied probability of 65.2%, to win this fixture and they've won six of their 11 home matches to date. Stoke are priced at 11/2 (15.4%) to come away with the three points, but they have won just two of their 11 away games this term.

The draw can be backed at 3/1 (25%) with this result striking on five occasions at Turf Moor, including in two of the last three encounters here.

Both teams to score has landed in two of the last three matches at Turf Moor and it is priced at 6/5 to land on Wednesday. Over 2.5 goals is on offer at the same odds and this selection has struck in two of Stoke's last three trips on the road.

Josh Brownhill is Burnley's top scorer in the league with nine goals and he is valued at 6/1 to open the scoring in this clash.

Team News

Jordan Beyer, Mike Tresor and Manuel Benson are all currently out injured for Burnley, but they are expected to return to the fold at some point this month. Aaron Ramsey is still working on his own recovery from a knee injury he sustained in February. He is hoping to return to the team at some point next month.

Parker will likely continue with Jaidon Anthony, Brownhill and Hannibal Mejbri support striker Zian Flemming on Wednesday. Although, if he is wanting some fresh legs to navigate his way through the final stretch of the congested festive period, he could call upon the likes of Lyle Foster, Jay Rodriguez, Luca Koleosho and Jeremy Sarmiento.

CJ Egan-Riley is likely going to start alongside Maxime Esteve in the heart of defence again, and the duo may be shielded by  Josh Cullen and Josh Laurent in the engine room.

For Stoke, Tatsuki Seko and Wouter Burger could make up a double pivot in the knowledge that  Ben Pearson and Jordan Thompson are out of action. After a winning start to his caretaker stint, Shawcross may avoid making too many changes to the side that defeated the Black Cats.

Lynden Gooch picked up a knock in that game, though, and he looks set to miss out here, so we could see one forced change in Lancashire. The most likely candidate to come into the team would be Enda Stevens as a like-for-like swap.

Attacker Million Manhoef has also been ruled out, and his absence could mean that Lewis Koumas, Andrew Moran, Jun-Ho Bae and Thomas Cannon are selected to start in the final third.

The Potters will be sweating ahead of the upcoming transfer window as there are rumours swirling that Cannon could be recalled by Leicester City to sanction a permanent transfer, with other Championship clubs interested in such a deal.

Burnley to win to nil @ 6/5

Stoke may have pulled off an impressive win in their last outing but a home game is very different to the challenge presented at Turf Moor, especially as the Clarets are still unbeaten here.

Burnley boast the best defensive record in the division with just nine goals conceded in 24 matches. That in itself makes this a huge task for Stoke, whose goalscoring record against top-half sides this campaign hasn't been great.

The Potters have scored an average of 0.43 goals in the seven matches they've played against teams in the top half of the table. It is hard to see them having any greater joy against the best defence in the division.

I think a smart play for this fixture is by backing Burnley to win to nil, which has been a winning selection on four occasions this term. The Clarets' unbeaten run at home should play its part and I think they have enough strength to keep this Stoke team at bay.

They have kept five clean sheets in their last seven matches at home, with two of them being wins to nil. I have also considered the fact that this selection landed when these two sides met in the reverse fixture at the end of November - with the Clarets winning 2-0.

I fancy their chances to record such a victory on home soil even more, and think 6/5 offers good value for Wednesday's encounter.

Josh Brownhill anytime goalscorer @ 9/4

Midfielder Brownhill is doing his part in trying to get Burnley back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Nine goals from midfield cannot be overlooked and he is offering much more to his side than just goals.

He has been one of the best players in the league this season and I think we will see him deliver another strong performance when the Clarets meet Stoke on Wednesday.

The former Bristol City man has already scored against the Potters this season, having struck from the penalty spot to wrap up the three points at the bet365 Stadium back in November.

Brownhill has scored in three of the last four league matches, so he heads into this clash full of confidence, so I'm backing him to net his 10th goal of the campaign against Stoke.
