BTTS Yes in Aston Villa vs Southampton @ 4/6

Aston Villa ended an eight-game winless streak in all competitions with a 3-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday. They couldn't have asked for a better opponent because the Bees haven't won a single game on the road this season in the top flight.

Unai Emery and his players will look to build some momentum when they welcome struggling Southampton to Villa Park on Saturday. I have no doubts Villa will score in this contest because the Saints are light in goal and in defence due to injuries or suspension.

Joe Lumley has had to go in between the sticks for the Saints and he's already delivered a few howlers, so Villa striker Ollie Watkins will be rubbing his hands together to face him.

For all their struggles, Southampton have been finding a way to score goals. They grabbed a consolation against Chelsea last time out and four of their seven away matches this term has seen BTTS land.

I think Villa are still prone defensively themselves, so I think we will see goals at both ends here.

BTTS Yes in Brentford vs Newcastle United @ 4/9

The Bees are back in their happy place, the Gtech Community Stadium, on Saturday, where they have won six of their seven home clashes this term. Brentford will look for an instant response to the Villa defeat when they face Newcastle United, who will be buoyed from their 3-3 draw with league leaders Liverpool.

BTTS has been a winning selection in all of Brentford's home fixtures this season, so I think we will see this trend continue at the weekend. The Magpies have seen six of their seven trips on the road produce goals at both ends, and after scoring a few in the week, I think there could be more in store for them in the capital on Saturday.

BTTS Yes in Lincoln City vs Charlton Athletic @ 10/11

In League 1, Lincoln City's confidence has taken a knock in recent weeks as they are winless in their last five. The Imps will hope to turn their fortunes around on Saturday when they welcome another hit-and-miss side in Charlton Athletic to Sincil Bank.

Exciting contests have been a feature in Lincolnshire this season, with BTTS striking in seven of Lincoln's home matches in the third tier, including all of their last five.

The Addicks haven't been involved in as many BTTS clashes, with just three of their nine away games delivering goals at both ends. Nathan Jones' side have scored in their last five matches across all competitions and will be hoping to profit against a shaky Imps defence.

BTTS Yes in Wycombe Wanderers vs Reading @ 8/13

League 1 leaders entertain Reading on Saturday in what looks to be a cracking contest on paper. The Chairboys have scored a whopping 38 goals already this season and are comfortably the highest scorers in the division.

They have seen 11 of their 17 league matches produce goals at both ends but only three of them have come at Adams Park. This is where the Royals come into my thinking.

Reading have been involved in a lot of BTTS clashes on the road this season, with eight of their nine away games seeing both teams get on the scoresheet. The visitors are unbeaten in their last four games, but they are likely having to deal with the loss of boss Ruben Selles to Hull City.

BTTS No in Burton Albion vs Wrexham @ 1/1

Wrexham have the best defensive record in the division, with just 11 goals scored. The Red Dragons have also kept 11 clean sheets this term, highlighting how tough their back line is to penetrate.

They've won four of their last five matches to nil, so I think we could see this trend continue at struggling Burton Albion, who have lost their last two matches without reply. Wrexham need to keep building momentum to keep up with Wycoombe and are well aware of the games in hand Birmingham City have on them, so their defensive record could play a huge role in the outcome of the season.

BTTS Yes in Port Vale vs Walsall @ 8/11

In League 2, there is a huge clash at the top of the table as leaders Port Vale host Walsall in second, with just one point separating the two teams. The game is going to be shown on Sky Sports+ and might attract the attention of a few neutrals.

The hosts have scored 26 goals this season already, while the Saddlers have a whopping 33 themselves - so there should be plenty of attacking quality on display. Six of the Valiants' matches at Vale Park have seen both teams get on the scoresheet this term.
