Brentford vs Wolves Prediction: Bees could be stung on home soil

Depleted Brentford will be seeking some festive cheer when they welcome Wolves to the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday.

A combination of injuries and suspensions has taken its toll on Thomas Frank's squad over recent weeks and that has been reflected in their results, as they have lost five of their last six matches.

Wolves were also struggling for wins prior to their Christmas Eve success over Chelsea, but Gary O'Neil will be hoping his side can take advantage of their hosts' struggles by claiming a positive result on the road.

Brentford could have as many as 10 first-term regulars missing on Wednesday, with Rico Henry, Bryan Mbeumo, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade, Kristoffer Ajer and Josh Dasilva all sidelined through injury, while Frank Onyeka, Ben Mee and Ivan Toney are suspended.

The one positive note for the Bees is Mathias Jensen is being assessed and could play some part after over a month on the sidelines with an adductor injury.

Wolves could be boosted by the return to the matchday squad of forward Pedro Neto, who is battling his way back from a hamstring issue. Craig Dawson is expected to shake off the knee injury he picked up against Chelsea while Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is back in contention following illness.
