Monday's Football Bet of the Day comes from Spain's Segunda Division as Deportivo La Coruna welcome Eibar to the Riazor Stadium for a 19:30 kick-off.

Football Bet Of The Day - Monday, November 11

  • Deportivo La Coruna vs Eibar - Under 1.5 goals @ 7/4

Deportivo were champions of La Liga in 1999-2000, lifting the Copa del Rey two seasons later, but they have suffered a serious fall from grace in recent years.

They endured four seasons in the third tier of Spanish football before winning promotion to the Segunda Division at the end of last term and they have had a tough start to the 2024-25 campaign, earning 13 points from their first 13 games.

Visitors Eibar, relegated from La Liga in 2021, are five points better off so read on for our pre-match analysis and best bet for Monday's game in Galicia.

A return to La Liga still looks a long way off for Deportivo La Coruna, who were in the Segunda Division relegation zone before their 5-1 victory at Cartagena last time out.

Yeremay Hernandez's goals in the sixth and 89th minutes bookended a commanding performance from Deportivo, who had also won 5-2 at Albacete at the end of September.

Match Odds - Deportivo La Coruna vs Eibar

But those thumping away victories give a false impression of Deportivo's season as they have won only one of their other 11 league matches and make limited appeal at odds of 1/1 against Eibar on Monday.

The success at Cartagena ended a five-match winless streak for Depor in the league which began with back-to-back 0-0 draws against Malaga and Elche.

Despite having the second-highest average attendance in the Segunda Division, behind only Malaga, Deportivo have struggled to make the most of home advantage.

They have picked up five points from six home games this term and their only victory on their own patch was a 1-0 win over lowly Racing Ferrol.

There has been a distinct lack of entertainment for fans at the Riazor Stadium, where Depor have scored only three times in six matches.

Two of those goals came from key man Hernandez, who is 8/1 to be the first goalscorer on Monday, while veteran ex-Arsenal and West Ham forward Lucas Perez is 5/1 to break the deadlock for Deportivo.

Given the hosts' attacking woes, backing under 1.5 goals looks a tempting bet at 7/4 as visitors Eibar are unlikely to contribute to a high-scoring, end-to-end contest.

They have found the net only 12 times in their first 13 league games this term and under 1.5 goals has been a winning bet in seven of their last ten matches in all competitions.

All five of Eibar's league victories this season were by a 1-0 margin and that outcome can be backed at 17/2 in the Correct Score market.

However, they have lost four of their last five games to nil, including a 1-0 extra-time defeat away to UD Logrones in last month's Copa del Rey tie, so going under the goals in Galicia is Monday's Football Bet of the Day.
