How do you follow up an enthralling set of Champions League quarter-finals? Well, for the two Spanish giants, El Clasico awaits (20:00, Sunday) with Real Madrid able to all-but-seal La Liga title with a win. Los Blancos will be on a high after their penalty success over Manchester City, while Barcelona are at the other end of the emotional spectrum, having thrown away a lead against PSG.

Xavi’s Barca farewell now looks as though it will end trophyless, unless the club can pull off an exceptional comeback in the league. Win here, and the gap will be down to five points. With Real Madrid having a Champions League semi-final to come, it might not be over just yet. But they have to win. Below I’ve put together some Real Madrid vs Barcelona Bet Builder Tips, to try and pick out a winner from the most famous domestic fixture in club football.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Bet Builder Tips

  • Bellingham and Vinicius Jr to score
  • Real Madrid to win
  • Frenkie De Jong and Dani Carvajal to be carded

Real Madrid to win

At a packed Santiago Bernabeu, I believe Real Madrid will come out on top against Barcelona. I also believe they will take a major step towards another La Liga title with a battling display, and I think we could see plenty of goals. This could be a celebration at the Bernabeu, and the chance to get one over on their bitter rivals, just days after Xavi’s side were knocked out of the Champions League, is too big to turn down.

Los Blancos won the reverse fixture 2-1, as Jude Bellingham scored a dramatic 92nd-minute winner. He’s likely to play a big part again and in truth, I think Real Madrid are just a level above Barca this term. They’ve got the individual quality to beat any team in Europe and they might just end this season with a famous La Liga/Champions League double.

Bellingham and Vinicius Jr to score

In terms of goalscorers, I want to pick out Real Madrid’s big stars. Bellingham has 16 league goals in 24 games this season and is always the man for the big occasion. He scored twice in the reverse fixture and I don’t think we need to overcomplicate it too much. Bellingham is clearly relishing the number 10 role at the biggest club in the world.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr has 18 goals in 31 appearances this season, and his pace is bound to cause problems for this Barca backline. I rate what Xavi has done at his former club, but this is going to be a party for the home side, in my eyes. Vincius and Belingham can both get on the scoresheet as Real Madrid march to the title.

Frenkie De Jong and Dani Carvajal to be carded

Two yellow card selections here in what should be a feisty affair. These are the two most likely men on the pitch to get booked in my opinion, and the referee may be dishing out cards on a regular basis, given the importance of this clash. De Jong has picked up seven yellow cards in just 19 league matches this season, and he is going to have to get through a lot of work at the base of Barca’s midfield.

Up against the likes of Bellingham, expect him to pick up a yellow at some point. Meanwhile, Barca’s tricky wingers could cause trouble for the experienced Dani Carvajal, who has somehow only picked up six yellows in all competitions this term. He was booked when up against Jack Grealish in midweek, and with another top quality winger running at him, I think he will go into the book.
