We're into the all important round of 16 second legs in the Champions League and Arsenal have a hill to climb against Porto on Tuesday night (20:00). The Portuguese side hold a slender 1-0 first-leg lead and here we've given our betting predictions as to whether they can overturn that deficit and make it into the hat for the quarter-final draw.

Arsenal vs Porto Betting Tips

  • Arsenal to win to Nil @ 4/5
  • Evanilson 2+ shots @ 21/20

It's been a fantastic response by Arsenal to their disappointing 1-0 first-leg loss to Porto three weeks ago. Since then, Mikel Arteta's men have beaten Newcastle and Sheffield United heavily, before edging past Brentford 2-1 at the weekend. Couple that with the 1-1 draw between title rivals Liverpool and Man City and the Gunners sit top of the Premier League, with just 10 games to go.

On Tuesday night, they have the chance to forget about the title race and instead attempt to inflict revenge on Sérgio Conceição's side, who did a professional job on them in the Estádio do Dragão. Galeno's 93rd-minute strike was enough to gain a first leg lead against the sub-par north London outfit, who struggled to get their attacking instincts firing on the continent.

A raucous Emirates will be baying for a reaction to that damp squib and a chance to prove to themselves and the rest of Europe, that Arsenal are a serious contender to lift the trophy on the 1st June.

Team news

Arteta is sweating on the fitness of star winger Gabriel Martinelli, after he missed the Brentford game through injury. He would join the long-term absentees in Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the unavailable list.

Ivan Marcano, Zaidu Sanusi and Mehdi Taremi are all missing for Porto due to injury.

Match odds

Arsenal are huge 2/9 favourites to win this one implying a 82% chance of victory, with Porto as big as 11/1 to pull off the massive shock. The draw is priced at 11/2, if you expect a stalemate on the night.

Goals look a inevitability, with over 2.5 at just 4/7, whilst both teams to score looks unlikely at 6/5.

Arsenal to win to Nil @ 4/5

The Gunners have scored 11 goals at home against Porto without reply in their last three match-ups.

Whilst those fixtures may have been some time ago, this Arsenal team look pretty solid right now, only conceding a freak goal due to Aaron Ramsdale's error on Saturday, following a shut out of a woeful Blades side the week prior.

Porto don't possess a great deal of firepower and I expect Gabriel and Saliba to be able to shut out any threat that comes their way.

Arsenal to win to nil

Evanilson 2+ shots @ 21/20

If Porto do have any shots, they are likely to come from Brazilian striker Evanilson. He averages 2.6 shots per game in the Liga Portugal and 1.7 in Europe. He has hit 2,0,2,3,3 in his last five games and has notched two in both of his away games.
