Below are my Argentina vs Honduras predictions, together with team news and match odds, ahead of this weekend’s game with the Central American nation at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas (Saturday 7pm local, Sunday 1am BST).

Argentina vs Honduras Stats

  • Fernandez (ARG) scored 15 goals in 54 Chelsea apps last season, including three in his final six
  • HON have failed to score in five of their last eight games
  • ARG have kept four clean sheets in their last five

Anytime Goalscorer - Enzo Fernandez (ARG) @ 7/4

Enzo Fernandez enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career so far in 2025/26, netting 15 times in 54 games for Chelsea, including 10 in 36 Premier League appearances.

The 25-year-old scored three in his last six matches of the campaign, and he was on target in the last international break for Argentina, opening the scoring in a 2-1 victory over Mauritania on 27 March.

Fernandez has a modest goalscoring record for his country, notching six in 40 senior caps, but with Messi sidelined on Sunday, there may be more space for him to operate in further forward, and I expect him to take the responsibility head-on.

He's also a superb penalty-taker, missing just one in his career from 12 attempts, and he had a 100% record for Chelsea last season (5/5).

To Win to Nil - Argentina @ 8/13

Honduras drew 2-2 with Peru in March, but that same Peru side finished second-bottom of the South American World Cup qualifying group, losing 1-0 away to Argentina and losing 2-0 at home to Lionel Scaloni's charges.

Los Catrachos failed to score in four of their six World Cup games during the last round of North & American qualifiers, and it's difficult to see them breaching an Argentine defence that has kept four clean sheets in the last five.
