Zambia vs Morocco Prediction: Back Brahim to blunt the Cooper Bullets

Monday 29th December 2025, 7:35am

While Morocco are already assured of a spot in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, they will go through as top seeds from Group A if they beat Zambia in Rabat on Monday (20:00 local, 19:00 GMT, live on 4seven).

The hosts overcame a stubborn Comoros then played out a 1-1 with Mali, but they’re huge favourites to see off Zambia in their final pool match. Here are my Zambia vs Morocco predictions, plus the latest team news and Betfred’s full match odds.

Zambia vs Morocco Betting Tips

  • Handicap -2: Morocco -2 @ 15/8
  • Brahim Diaz Anytime Goalscorer @ 8/5

Team News

Zambia boss Moses Sichone has a full panel to choose from, although his biggest headache will be around achieving a positive result after wasting a huge chance to win in the 0-0 draw with Comoros.

Patson Daka has their only goal of the tournament, that coming late on against Mali to earn a share of the spoils in their opener in Casablanca.

However, the Leicester City striker could see himself under pressure for his place from Kennedy Musonda, whose four goals got the Copper Bullets to the finals.

Morocco haven’t truly hit their straps to this point, so Walid Regragui could make changes. Especially now that his side are at least assured of progression as one of the better third-placed teams.

Regragui may well give Achraf Hakimi his first action of the tournament after injury, while Youssef En-Nesyri is widely expected to get some minutes.

Zambia vs Morocco Predicted Lineups

  • Zambia: Mwanza; M Banda, B Sakala, Chanda, Musonda; Tembo, Simukonda; L Banda, Kangwa, F Sakala; Daka
  • Morocco: Bono; Hakimi, El Yamiq, Aguerd, Salah-Eddine; Amrabat; Diaz, El Aynaoui, Ounahi, Saibari; Rahimi

Zambia vs Morocco Odds

It’s fair to say that Zambia are coming into this with little expectation from the neutrals. They’re 16/1 for the win with Betfred, while Morocco are priced at 1/5.

You can get 5/1 about the draw, while the Double Chance of Zambia gaining either a win or a point is 3/1.

Fancy Both Teams to Score? That’s a 7/4 pick. And it’s 8/15 for Morocco to Win to Nil.

Zambia vs Morocco Stats

  • Zambia have attempted 17 shots in their 2 games so far, but just 2 have hit the target (0 of 10 v Comoros on MD2)
  • Morocco have sent in 31 shots (11 on target) and scored 3 goals thus far
  • Brahim Diaz is the joint-leading scorer in the 2025 Afcon with a goal in both games so far

Today's Football Fixtures

Handicap -2: Morocco -2 @ 15/8

Zambia shouldn’t be a walkover for Morocco, and yet if the hosts can grab an early goal then the pressure building around them could dissipate pretty quickly.

Such is tournament football for a host nation, any setback can feel like a massive misstep. So the draw with Mali has been front and centre of everyone’s minds for the last three days.

But they should have too much class for a limited Zambia side, and I like the look of this value pick which implies a 34.8% chance of Morocco winning by a three-goal cushion.

Football Odds

Brahim Diaz Anytime Goalscorer @ 8/5

Why change what has previously worked for you?

I backed Diaz for a goal in the opener against Comoros, and then he repeated the trick by converting a penalty in the eventual draw with Mali.

He showed in qualifying that, once he hits a hot streak for the Atlas Lions, there’s little stopping him. The Real Madrid man bagged seven goals in just 233 minutes of the preliminary phase.

So the 8/5 bet looks good for another Diaz goal in a victory which would send Morocco through as reasonably comfortable group winners.
