Team News
Sudan have a clean bill of health coming into this crunch clash and they will welcome the return of Salaheldin Alhassan following his suspension.
Monged Elneel should continue in goal after his impressive display in the 1-0 triumph over Equatorial Guinea last time out.
Burkina Faso also have no injuries to report heading into this contest, so both teams will be able to go full strength on Wednesday.
Steve Yago, Issoufou Dayo, Edmond Tapsoba and Arsene Kouassi should once again be the back four to protect goalkeeper Herve Koffi.
Bertrand Traore, Pierre Kabore and Dango Ouattara are expected to operate as the front three, with the latter having an assist to his name at these finals so far.
Sudan vs Burkina Faso Predicted Lineups
- Sudan: Elneel; Barglan, Saeed Ahmed, Karshom, Khamis; Khidir, Omer, Taifour; Abdallah, Eisa, Abdelrahman
- Burkina Faso: Koffi; Yago, Dayo, Tapsoba, Kouassi; Sangare, Ouedraogo, Zougrana; Traore, Kabore, Ouattara
Sudan won the last encounter with Burkina Faso which came in the group stage of the 2012 edition and they are 9/2 to repeat history.
The draw is on offer at 2/1, while Burkina Faso are 5/6 (implied probability of 54.5%) to collect the three points, having won four of their past five fixtures.
Sudan vs Burkina Faso Stats
- Three of Burkina Faso's last six victories have been won to nil
- They have scored at least twice in five of those wins
To Win To Nil - Burkina Faso @ 13/10
There is going to be a lot of pressure felt between both sets of players here with it all boiling down to this game. Both have performed well enough in Morocco so far with a victory apiece, but on the face of it, Burkina Faso have a lot more individual quality in their ranks and I am expecting this to shine through on Wednesday.
A front three including Ouattara and Traore, two players who have been impressing in the Premier League this season with Brentford and Sunderland respectively, should pose an array of problems for Sudan.
The Falcons of Jediane were out of their depth against Algeria as they were beaten 3-0 on matchday one, while Burkina Faso only lost by the one goal.
I think that Burkina Faso can show off their defensive organisation here to post their first clean sheet at the finals, which is something they have recorded in three of their previous six victories.

Away Team Total Goals - Over 1.5 @ 11/8
In each of those six wins, the Stallions have found the net at least twice, which also features their recent triumph against Equatorial Guinea on matchday one. As I mentioned above, Burkina Faso have a lot more individual quality to rely upon than their opponents and this talent should come to the fray on Wednesday given what's at stake.
It is also worth noting that Sudan have conceded at least two goals in three of their past four outings heading into this fixture.
